The New York Jets made a power move to land USC quarterback Mark Sanchez with the fifth overall draft pick via a trade with the Cleveland Browns, and here are the details of the deal, courtesy of Adam Caplan of Scout.com.

Regardless of the opinions on Miles Austin's value, the fact the Jets are pursuing this tells me a few things.
1. The Jets are not enamored with the WR crop from the position they are sitting in.
Anyone who thinks a 2nd round WR has a better chance of succeeding then Miles Austin, I have a bridge in NJ to sell you. It's cheap, and we can get it done today. PM me.
2. The Jets have no thoughts on taking a WR at 17.

Hi, this post is all about the Jets future, Mark Sanchez. This guy is awesome. My name is I28 and I can't stop thinking about the Jets. These guys are cool; and by cool, I mean totally sweet.
Facts:
1. Sanchez doesn't read defenses...
2. You don't need experience to win 12-14 games...
3. The purpose of the Bart Scott is to flip out and kill people...
The Jets can beat anyone they want! They've got unproven WRs, like David Clowney, that can score ALL the time and don't even think twice about it....

I love what he did these past 2 days. But teams build depth on their team through the draft by getting 7 players or so. The Jets haven't drafted 7 players under Tannenbaum. I realize he's been getting good players, and that's what's most important. But at this point, they need to start thinking about depth on the roster. Come next year, they need to start thinking a little bit more about quantity in my opinion.
