Howdy everyone! I hope your summer is going amazing..personally, as usual, mine is going WAY to quickly! Obviously as you can see in my signature, I am not a dentist, I have been accepted into dental school for the Fall of 2011 though!!! I am honored to be able to ask for each of your opinions. Thank you!! Anyway, this thread - I am traveling to latin america to intern in a hospital for 2 months. Once a week I will be traveling to an orphanage and plan on passing out toothbrushes, toothpaste, et...

3. Your favourite Latin phrases   (05 Jun 2009)
'Deae pecuniae votum' I worship the God of money, which is something I got off a Pain of Salvation album and makes you really think about things. Considering we invented the economy, could we still technically pray to a God of money, assuming there is Gods? Interesting to think about. Post yours!

4. Greek or Latin   (02 Jul 2009)
I'm thinking about taking a Classical language next semester. Unfortunately, my school only offers Classical Latin and Homeric Greek, while I am more interested in the Koine Greek and late Imperial/Medieval Latin. So my question to the experts here is, how much did these language evolve? Is learning Homeric Greek a good enough start for Koine/Byzantine or would I be wasting my time? And is learning Cicero going to help me read anything after 300 A.D? Thanks for any input. David Walker

5. Latin Turns   (24 Jun 2009)
have been practicing 180 turns without thinking about it, just feeling the mechanics as they want to move through my body, and the sequence of rotation in my body on the turn is torso-hips-head. is this technically correct? it's been awhile since i worked on this with an instructor... hoping that's the case, because it's moving so fluidly in that sequence.

6. Serously thinking about moving, some questions - Columbus   (24 Jun 2009)
Hello, We are seriously thinking about moving to Columbus, OH from Miami, FL. Main reason, cost of living and we are not much of a beach crowd anyways. I have some questions 1) What is the tolerance towards latins? I am not the typical latin in many ways, but a look at me and you'll know I am not exactly from Russia. And my accent is still a little thick. 2) Do you know what is the job outlook for business analyst? Is monster.com the best place to look? 3) How is the availability to alternative...

8. Equipment opinions   (09 Jun 2009)
I am approaching the point where I am ready to upgrade from Traktor 3 and my BCD3000. I am asking for your opinions as to which route to go. I play house, top 40, some rap, assorted latin music. These are pros and cons as I look at it. Option 1)CDJ 400's. Likes :Onboard effects, loop options, USB device ready and should soon have HID support. Dislikes : Do i need traktor scratch for this or will TPro also support HID? Will ALL the features work in HID as if I was using a cd.? Option 2)Pair of tu...

9. Your opinions please   (02 Jul 2009)
I attend, and serve, at a Traditional Mass every Sunday 25 miles from home. However, I am a member of my local parish as I have been since birth. The priest in my parish, as far as I can tell, is a good man...devout, humble, reverent and prayerful. While Sunday services are the usual Novus Ordo variety his weekday masses are very nice with the ordinary parts said in Latin and the Salve Regina sung beforehand. Now here is the rub: The Sunday mass is started with a "lets greet our neighbors" bit w...

To Young Americans: Protest Our Crooked Politicians By Not Joining The Military (if you're thinking about joining) - Why "serve your country" when your politicians are definitely NOT serving you in any sense? - Why "serve your country" when your President is hell-bent on giving amnesty to 20 million illegal aliens and, also, hell-bent on opening the floodgates to millions more Latin American peasants who will further destroy American culture? - Why join the military when your politicians are...
