1. What is the Most LUXURIOUS Cream/Soap?   (22 Jun 2009)
What, in your opinion, is the most luxurious cream or soap that you have tried? By luxurious, I mean the soap or cream you wait all week to really indulge yourself with on the weekend or on vacation. It is not your daily work horse, nor does it offer the best bang for the buck. It is the cream or soap you save until you have time for that 1 hour shave. It is the cream or soap you savor. It cushions, it smells out of this world, and it leaves you feeling like you just had one the most indulgent s...

2. To Rose, or not T Rose?   (01 Jun 2009)
I have been thinking about going rose, or atleast trying it, as an off the regular rotation sort of thing. I don't know if I should go with a soap, or a cream. I was thinking about a whole rose thing, cream/soap, thayers rose witch hazel, and maybe a splash. is the DR harrington, pink splash a rose scent? What combos have you guys used for rose? I'm looking for some suggestions.

3. Looking for a new brush   (19 May 2009)
I have the C&E BBB I also have an Omega boar and a Vie-Long horse hair. I want to buy another brush to add to the den. I want a really nice one. I would like to keep it about $100 or so. I use The Taylor of Old Bond soap and cream mixed in a bowl then applied to my face. I was thinking about a larger bush, but don’t really know. I want a really nice one. From what I have read on here Kent BK8, Rooney 3/3, or Simpson Chubby seem good. Does anyone have any ideas?

4. My Chubby Needs A Friend ;)   (06 May 2009)
I have a Chubby 1 in Best, and I'm thinking about getting a Tulip to go along with it. There is just something about the style that I can't get out of my head...must be the curves. Curves get me in trouble. I do have 2 questions since I don't see many people talking about the T1. 1.) What would be a better compliment to my CH1, the T1 or T2? I really like everything about it so I don't need to fix any shortcomings. I just want to put another great brush in the rotation. I use both soaps and crea...

5. Hello from Indiana   (31 May 2009)
Hi everyone! My name is Cutter and I am a railroad conductor. My razor of choice is my `66 Superspeed, though I am thinking about looking for a Fatboy just to extend the lifespan of my SS because it is my birth year razor. I bought a Merkur 34g for that purpose, but IMHO, it is no SS. I use an EJ BBB and also one of those Kimson horn handle silvertips. Both are great, to me. I have tried quite a few different soaps and creams, but they all faded into disinterest once I tried Mama Bears. I also l...

6. JoeyT's Newb Check-In   (28 May 2009)
Hello gentlemen, I just figured I would say hey to all so that I'm no longer a stranger in the shadows. I've been wet shaving for about six months and I am lovin' it. I started with a burn out set on EBay that included an overused and tired brush that fell apart as I was using it. It also included an old Old Spice soap mug, and two dirty razors. One an old Gillette 3 piece and the other an old Schick injector. I also bought a 100 pack of Dorcos because they we cheap. So for less than 20 bucks I...

7. Planning a project   (19 May 2009)
I need to whip my ever expanding collection of hygiene products into some shape. Mostly shave stuff. So I was thinking about building a small shelf with a couple of small drawers at the bottom. The shelves would be for soaps, creams, deodorant, facial wash, etc. The small drawers for blades, samples, toothpaste, etc. I'm also trying to think of the best way to integrate a brush holder and one for the razor too. I nifty idea I also had was to try and work a hidden blade bank into it somewhere. It...

8. Do more dense brushes hold less lather?   (09 May 2009)
Hi all, I recently got my hands on a Rooney 3/1 in super which is pretty much the same size as the Taylors Silvertip I've been using (and been largely happy with) for the past year or so. My intention was to get a brush more suited to face lathering with soaps, and to have a step up in quality. My last couple of shaves haven't been as good with this new brush. This is what I'm thinking: - Brush is more scrubby therefore maybe harder on the face (I face lather) - Brush is more dense and holds les...

9. Dr. Mike's TSD All-stars!   (23 May 2009)
Alright, I've been thinking about this for a while, and I thought I would take a moment to call attention to some people on here that have made TSD an incredibly enjoyable place. This is not meant to be all inclusive, and I will probably add names to the list. There is no standard that I use to pick these people, and it is all purely subjective. Anyways, here they are in no particular order. 1969Fatboy - Last year I was mostly posting on B&B, and my only experience with Shawn over there (that I...

10. A very long post containing soothing advice for new wet shavers   (11 May 2009)
I’ve only been wet shaving since February, but recently I’ve noticed two things: I’ve been getting some really amazing shaves, and I’ve calmed down about the whole wet shaving phenomenon. I still really look forward to my shaves, but I don’t spend every spare moment on Badger and Blade or on obscure barber supply websites hunting for the perfect cream. I’m enjoying the shaving more and worrying less about learning and about the equipment. I thought some of the things I’ve learned in the past few...
