Hi guys,
I'm thinking of buying a 30D which I know will be up for sale shortly.
My questions to you are, do you enjoy using the 30D?
Would there be anything you'd change?
Should you have bought something else (body-wise not lens-wise)?
Finally, any pictures, or anything else you can tell me would be great.

I was thinking about buying a 40D but is it worth saving £150 and going for the 30D? Has anyone owned both? Thanks

I am seriously confused about what to do right now. I have searched a plethora of reviews, forums, and anything else, only to come to no conclusion.
I plan to take portraits, action shots, and sometimes sports.
My uncle suggested that I get this setup listed below. However, he made the point that he does not know much about non-professional grade equipment so I should ask around to get other opinions.

30D, On Camera Flash question

My daughter had her prom this weekend and the weather was ALMOST miserable. Rainy and overcast, I wanted to use the on camera flash to give some added pop. (I know, I should have something off camera ). Still new to Canon, FWIW.
I use Av mode almost exclusively. Started out trying 200 ISO and the flash. Things were WAY blown out.
I tried many different settings and nothing was consistently good. Long story short, used P mode with flash turned down 2 stops. (I would need to go thru each photo's p...

Ok so I have a photoshoot with two young ladies who asked me. I am pretty new to the whole people photoshoots, much better with cars and what not. What advice could you all give me?
My Weapons I have to choose from.
Canon 30d
17-85 mm is
50 mm 1.8
55-250 mm is
430 ex II
tripod
Location will be somewhere downtown before noon and possibly a junk yard.
The girls work for MAC so their style is unique bright colorful and creative.

18-55 II worth replacing with 18-55 IS?

While on the edge of going for Nikon D60 got a good deal on Canon 30D Kit with 18-55 non IS. So I am back in Canon Camp before even leaving the camp
In near future I will be buying 85/1.8 and 100/2.8 macro. So I am wondering if 18-55 non IS is an okay lens for casual family type snaps or its worth replacing it 18-55 IS version.
Any opinions/suggestions most welcome

I am kind of new to photography but i really enjoy it. I mostly take pictures of cars now but i am going to start getting into architectural pictures(interior and exterior). I would like to buy a new "walk around" lense. i was thinking about getting the sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4.5. Just wondering if there is a better lense for the money... budget is around $350 give or take a few $$
What i have canon 30d, 18-55mm, and 50mm 1.8

Hi everyone! I'm new here, but I am in need of some advice.
After getting some dust on the sensor of my Rebel XT, I went to get it cleaned only to find out that one small line of dust is either incredibly stubborn or actually a scratch (the guy at the store couldn't even see it on the sensor, but it's there in every picture). I read in a review that the 500D raw files vary between 20mb and 30mb each, depending on subject and ISO. Is this really true? It seems to be excessively large for a 15mp camera. I have some Canon mount lenses sitting around unused (used to have a 30D and 300D) so I am thinking about getting a 500D. I am also currently using a 12mp Sony A700 and my raw files are about 12.5mb. I am confused why the 500D with just 3mp more has raw files that are 7.5mb to 17.5mb larger. Can anyone confirm that the...
