Buying a lens out of country, would you declare it?
(03 Jun 2009)
Hi guys! Just a little game to test everyone's honesty!
If you were to buy a camera, lens, flash (but that can apply to anything) in another country (let's say a Canadian buys a lens in NY or an American buys a lens in Toronto, for example), when going back to your country through customs (on the road, not on the air or by boat), do you declare your item?
I mean, photographic items (lenses, bodies, flashes, etc.) are supposed to be duty free, but when importing them, taxes apply. Do you declare...

I declare my Independence today!
(04 Jul 2009)
Perhaps the American founding fathers didn't have this in mind but...
When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for July DD women to dissolve the gestational bands which have connected them with their LOs and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of womankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

"declare my attack step"
(25 May 2009)
I was thinking about how people announce that they are about to attack. A lot of times I hear "declare my intent to attack" or "I'll move to declare attackers" and mostly I hear "declare my attack step."
The problem I see is that they don't (as far as I know) have any actual meaning in the game. I think most qualified judges will take it to mean something along the lines of "During my first main phase, I pass priority, and if there are no responses I will continue to pass priority until I can de...

Unable to declare victory and to move on?
(13 May 2009)
I was thinking about my former department the other day and specifically about a couple of "crusaders" who, I will freely admit, broke ground and changed the way business was done. These efforts were in regards to domestic violence and "men and women in the workplace" issues. Yet, ten, fifteen, twenty years later their cause is still the same. They demand more in-service training hours to these topics than I think they should get. They've managed to convince clowns in the state capitol to requir...

I declare war
(30 May 2009)
On the high prices of warships! Think about the consumers! The regulation of the price of warships is ensuring that they are not as affordable! I say, let the manufacturers bid for the lowest prices! Workingmen, to arms! To arms, I call you!

At what point would you declare yourself a lifelong bachelor?
(27 May 2009)
I've got a buddy who's my age (34) that says he pretty much sees 35 as the last point where he'd tie himself down to someone. My personal take is that I could see myself doing it into my late 30's (with a woman who's in her late 20's, naturally).

Italy to Declare Independence from US Military
(01 Jul 2009)
Do they have a fourth of July in Italy? That's not a trick question. This July 4th, Italians plan to gather in Vicenza to take nonviolent action aimed at freeing Italy from U.S. occupation and opposing the proposed construction of an enormous new U.S. military base in a town already swarming with U.S. troops stationed at existing bases. For years now, a major campaign organized by local residents has resisted the construction of the new base. The history of this campaign is chronicled in English...

POST IVA - WHAT DO I HAVE TO DECLARE
(30 Apr 2009)
Hello Everyone, hope your all surviving in this crazy world at the moment. I've kept my nose clean over the past year since finishing my IVA and just wanted to guage some opinions on my next step.
I have been looking at getting a credit card, as I am still having trouble getting a bank account with debit card (don't want a cheque book).
I was told by a friend to get a credit card (not a prepayment one, as they will not increase my credit rating) and applied, but was rejected for a Nectar Credit...
