1. DeSoto Parents Sue Schools, Police for Racial Discrimination   (11 Apr 2009)
Parents of six DeSoto County students are suing the city of Southaven, school district employees and police officers for alleged racial discrimination during an incident on a school bus last year. In their suit, filed yesterday, the parents allege that on Aug. 12, 2008, a bus driver and bus monitor mishandled a verbal altercation between two girls, one black and one white, by pulling over to the side of the road and calling for police intervention. When police arrived several minutes later, two...

2. rev3 swimming/wetsuit advice! need opinions.   (05 Jun 2009)
Ok. Good news. I swam this morning and my back didn't hurt in the water. As soon as I got out I felt like 400 pounds, back hurt. I should be a go for Sunday. Back massage at 2PM today. Ok. Here's my dilemma. I wore my FULL desoto 2 piece wetsuit at a race last month. The bottoms were squeeze-in-able. The top surprisingly zipped. My boobs somehow didn't bust a seam. Monica is bringing her wetsuit for me to wear. It should fit. Mine MIGHT fit (I have it with me). Water temp is 57 (we think). 1. I...

Some magazine folks were visiting one of my customers down in Madison County (of covered bridge fame) to take photos at his place early this past winter, and were intrigued the solar heating panels on his shop building. When they asked if the panels did any good, he invited them to step inside to judge for themselves... 4. History Gone Wrong   (10 Jun 2009)
In another thread I mentioned that historical sites are often wrong, and that the history we learned in school is very often wrong as well. That got me to thinking about some books I had read a while back that I really enjoyed, Lies Across America: What Our Historic Sites Get Wrong and Lies My Teacher Told Me: Everything Your American History Textbook Got Wrong by James Loewen. After you play this game a while everything takes on a geocaching perspective, so this made me think "Wouldn't a nation...

6. '69 Chevy Pickup Project... (Tenative)   (22 Jun 2009)
At TLowe's urging: Quote: : I'm about to start on a restoration/repowering of my '69 Chev 3/4 ton pickup, currently equipped with a 350/TH400, and with a 4.10 axle and 16" wheels. I plan on installing a turbocharged EFI 292 in front of a 700R4. This truck will continue to be a working truck, generally driven only when loads are to be hauled. Most loads are small, but it is not unusual for me to put 3000 pounds of rock or lumber on board, or to pull a 10,000 pound trailer. I hope to acheive somew...

9. Wickets 2010 recruiting analysis   (16 Apr 2009)
Since I should be learning for my exams but got bored out of my mind i thought play the game of listing all the recruits we offered and this post is what followed. Bolded recruits are those I feel like we have a decent/good shot at. Underlined recruits are commits Unconfirmed recruits that are listed as offers by a major recruiting service and with no concrete evidence that they arent offered. (suspected offers) Ive added guys where I feel we have the best shot at for every position with multipl...
