NBA Finals Format
(01 Jun 2009)
Sitting in the long car drive today, I got to thinking about the NBA finals and their format. While the first three rounds are all 2-2-1-1-1 format, but the NBA Finals are 2-3-2. This brings me to my question, which format would you prefer?

Orient fans have painful Hearnia to think about
(08 Jun 2009)
Just spent much of my afternoon writing a column for the Orient rivals site. I usually do "Match Previews" but have come up with this fairly emotional piece.
Quote: : After fourteen years in charge we look back on Barry Hearn's rein as Orient chairman and look ahead to the future and discuss what that holds for Barry and most importantly, the club. Quote: :
In 1995, Leyton Orient Football Club's one hundred and fourteen existence looked to be in jeopardy when chairman Tony Wood lost his coffee g...

Women's Tennis Finals database
(11 Jun 2009)
Andy T's thread got me thinking about a database for women's tennis finals. It would have to be a group project, but I think it's possible.
I think it's best to stop at 1983 , since it's the year the women finally united all the main events in a world tour.
I need ideas on a good format. Any ideas are welcome.

Kobe's Sixth Finals
(30 May 2009)
Just a thought, had Malone not get injured in the Finals, the Lakers quite possibly would have beaten the Pistons in that 2004 Finals. That Lakers team had no bench, so without Malone was a huge loss.
And had Bynum and Ariza not get injured last year, again the Lakers quite possibly would have beaten the Celtics in last year's 2008 Finals. With the way Ariza is playing now, I have no doubt the Lakers would've beaten the Celtics last year, even with Bynum out.
To think, had the Lakers not had tho...

(24 Apr 2009)
TENNIS NEWS
DJOKOVIC: I CAN BEAT NADAL ON CLAY
Novak Djokovic may have been unable to end Rafael Nadal's amazing run of results at Monte Carlo but the Serb firmly believes he has the world number one's number on clay heading into next month's French Open.
Nadal claimed his fifth successive Monte Carlo Masters title with a 6-3 2-6 6-1 win over Djokovic in Sunday's final, and he continues to look unbeatable on his favoured surface.
However, world number three Djokovic produced what he felt was his...

The NBA Finals
(06 Jun 2009)
In your point of view, who will bag the NBA crown this year? Is it the Bryant-led Los Angeles Lakers or the Howard-spearheaded Orlando Magic?
The Los Angeles Lakers , on it's second straight Finals appearance, plans to erase the memories of it's previous humiliating lost against the Boston Celtics last year. The determined Kobe Bryant, last season's Most Valuable Player, is ready to be with Superman in the court, though not with Shaquille O'Neal. The "Superman" being talked about is Dwight Howar...

JR Smith on ESPN News Guarantees Nuggets will be in the finals!
(25 May 2009)
He was talking about how all you see is Kobe and Lebron. Said he guarantees Nuggets will be in the Finals, and then tried to retract a bit. What do you guys think about his statement?
If you didn't see it they usually replay it every half hour.
