OPINIONS Silent Hill - Homecoming
(03 May 2009)
I just went and copped this game for $140 NZD (The most expensive ps3 game ive seen might i add) and don't think much of the game.
its a little boring for me. I saw a review where they gave it a B.
From what ive played so far ide give it a C+ at the most.
I kinda regret buying it.
What did you think?

opinions: the best, currently available, bourbon from Heaven Hill
(05 Jun 2009)
In looking at my bar, I've noticed that the only Heaven Hill juice that I have is the Rittenhouse BIB Rye (which I like and stock). And - I have a space open (in my 20 Whiskeys rack ) for another Rye'd Bourbon and I think I'd like to find something from Heaven Hill to round out the bunch (since for Bourbons I've already got juice from BT, Beam, 4R, and WT).
So what do you guys think is the very best Bourbon from the fine folks at Heaven Hill, amongst what's currently being made and reasonably av...

Bristol - Wills Hall or Clifton Hill House - please help!!
I really don't know which one to go for...I've narrowed it down to my first choice as one of these, Clifton hill house or wills and im stuck, please any advice would be brilliant!
heres what i know so far:
CHH - strict and matronly no loudness - sounds a bit lack of fun?
also out of it in terms of socialising with other halls
Wills - stereotyped for 'rahs' - think this is probs a bit generalised
far away from the uni
also not good soci...

Resident Evil vs. Silent Hill
(01 May 2009)
Okay folks. Resident Evil vs. Silent Hill. This is a fairly long-standing debate, seeing as these are two of the most well-known series of games in the Survival Horror genre. So I'm interested on hearing all of your view points on this. Some people prefer Resident Evil because of it's jump-out-of-your seat scares, zombie plot-line (I myself am a HUGE zombie movie and such fan, so that's a big plus to Resident Evil for me), and awesome, destructive weapons and kills available. Yet, still, others...

Thinking about going single-speed
(31 May 2009)
My rear derailer seems to be having a hard time shifting gears. It also requires constant adjusting, which I really don't want to waste my time doing; so I have been looking into converting my road bike (vertical dropout ) into a single-speed, mainly because I like simplicity.
Today I went out on a short ride (7km; I was tired from the 45km I rode yesterday) and I only used one gear (52/18). Surprisingly, I managed to do it, although there are some hills that will require practicing I think.
I g...

Pharmacists getting hosed on Capitol Hill
(25 Apr 2009)
I just received this email from a Dean at RU:
Dear student pharmacists,
We have an immediate concern about the visibility of pharmacists as
healthcare professionals in light of the upcoming healthcare reform.
Some recent feedback from Capitol Hill really undervalues our profession:
1. Since nurses can coach patients to be compliant, pharmacist-provided
medication therapy management (MTM) services is unnecessary.
2. While providing MTM, pharmacists just use an algorithm. Computers
can do this jus...

Is silent hill 2 the pinnacle of writing for video games?
(29 Jun 2009)
Do you think SH:2 is one of the best written games of all time? Incredible story atmosphere so on and so fourth. I love the game to death and think it can be held as one of the best written games of all time. Making the player still think about it years after a playthrough.

Get the Bikes! Meet Us Up On the Playground At the Top of The Hill!!
(17 Jun 2009)

This movie is downright amazing, so many lines that are so good, so many scenes that are great, acting is top notch even in the kids, and the movie itself is a masterpiece and one of my favorites.
Do any of you have memories about when you first saw this film? Or just opinions on it at all?
I sure remember watching it as a kid
those spacemen invading the home were terrifying!

I was called a Hill-William yesterday.
(24 Jun 2009)
According to Urban Dictionary, "A step above hill billy, 'I'm not a hill billy, I'm a hill-william, I have most of my teeth.'" This word was mentioned after I explained that I'm from Tennessee. It kind of reminds me of how my grandma was asked why she was wearing shoes when she moved up north.
Hillbilly: Stupid, dirty, barefoot, and drunk. That sums up the word for me. I grew up watching the Beverly Hillbillies, and I liked the show. But it's like they show sugar-coated the word. I kind of reali...

Futurama vs King of the Hill
(30 Apr 2009)
So, a few years ago Futurama was always the first thing that came on at 10:00 on Adult Swim. This was recently replaced with King of the Hill.
I have always loved Futurama. The techincal humor in it is just so damn funny. The characters are great. It's just overall an awesome show.
As for King of the Hill, I used to watch it a bit when I was younger. Never really got into it. Since it joined the Adult Swim lineup, though, I've watched it literally EVERY night. Both episodes. What makes it so fun...
