2. What do you think about the mainstream media ... Knowledge.   (21 Apr 2009)
What do you think about the mainstream media labeling "tax day tea parties" as out of control Republican Right Wing Racist Whackos, demonstrating against Obama?  I'd even heard about a few women afraid to participate, because the courts would allow it to be used against them in custody hearings.

Okay so to start of with, I live in new zealand. So it isn't that serious here. There is about 30 confirmed cases and 400 suspected. But i think that the media are making a big deal about it. 5. Thinking about replacing AppleTV with MacMini   (10 Jun 2009)
I've been thinking really hard lately about replacing the AppleTV with the MacMini. I am going to use it to watch movies, tv shows and occasionally use the internet. I have a few concerns and questions about doing this. My first question is which MacMini should I get? Is there one that would be better? I'm looking into getting a refurbished one. How much RAM do I need? I'm not worried about the hard drive space because I will be using an external 1TB for most movies. The main difference between...

6. Vista Media Center, OR, XP Media Center? Which is the better choice?   (28 Apr 2009)
I've been setting up a computer to be a media hub in my house. Currently I've got Windows XP SP3 as the operating system. We've been watching a lot of hulu, and now streaming netflix, etc. . . Also using it to look at pics, listen to music. I want to have Windows Media Center. The question is should I go w/ Vista Home Premium, or get XP Media Center Edition, which I've found is still readily available. I have an Intel Core Duo 1.8Ghz, and 2GB of DDR2 (1066 I believe), and a nVidia 9600GT 512MB G...

7. music media player - need opinions   (11 Apr 2009)
I am trying to decide the best music player for large playlist or doing family functions, thus meaning a large playlist playing mp3's and cd's, this could be regular or dj software, no scratching just regular playing with a possible fade in and out ( like the dj sound board to switch for cd player to cd player) So, what I need is some opinions, tried VLC, had some issues with load time etc. was considering xmms, but i hear support is going to end on it? then I ran across zinf, and it appears to...

8. Something for all the peace loveing pot-smokers to think about...   (11 May 2009)
Something for all the peace loveing pot-smokers to think about... The 231 drug murders recorded in Ciudad Juarez in February dropped to 64 in March, the army says. But the number crept up to 81 in April and is already over 30 for the first week of May, according to police and media tallies. Mexico's drug war death toll is running at around 2,300 people this year, slightly higher than at the same point in 2008. A record-breaking 5,612 people were executed in Mexico’s drug war in 2008. Mexico's da...

9. something to think about   (03 May 2009)
Quote: : Not long ago, sports writer Selena Roberts compared the Duke lacrosse players to gang members and career criminals. She claimed that the players’ unwillingness to confess to or snitch about a rape (that did not happen) was the equivalent of drug dealers and gang members promoting antisnitching campaigns. When since-disgraced district attorney Mike Nifong whipped up a media posse to rain justice on the drunken, male college students, Roberts jumped on the fastest, most influential horse,...
