1. What do you think about the Suzuki Grand Vitara SUV?   (03 May 2009)
I'm thnking about upgrading my current Family Car, the Nissan Sentra/Alemra 1.8L model 2001 with a new 4x4 SUV and I'm serisouly thinking about the Suzuki Grand Vitara 2.0L Petrol 4x4 SUV model 2006. It'll probably take a year or so till I'll save enough money to afford the upgrade, but I'm just collecting reviews from people who have/had this car... I'm kinda 'locked' on that specific model and was wondering if any of you had/own such a car and/or if any one you heard some opinions and/or had s...

2. Here's my .2 cents. Think about it, Management   (28 Apr 2009)
I have watched from a distance the ongoing battle to *regain" Truck.Net. I have kept quiet, with minor exception and I figure now is as good a time as any to hit the fan with it. Let me think back a few years to when I lurked here. There were many, many posters...yeah, sure..the Wild West..I saw the other thread. But the truth is, it was a forum where we could come and discuss trucking stuff, gripe about trips, loads, roads, trucks and stoopit stuff. With a lot of humor thrown in. Zigzag, as big...

3. [Other] Editorial: Thinking about Total Battlefield   (08 Apr 2009)
Five months ago, Spawndemon put his arm around my shoulders, pointed towards Total Battlefield, and said "Someday this will all be yours. Well, actually it's yours now. Have fun; try not to break anything." As I looked deep into his eyes, I could see that they had been jaded by the responsibility of running Total Battlefield in all its iterations for all these years. I swore to myself that I would carry on the legacy of the great men who served this post before me. I was one of the nearly 1,000...

4. Thinking About Taking This Bike -   (21 Jun 2009)
So for about 4 weeks now Ive been staring at this open locker door with a roadbike in it. I went over and looked at it today, its a Trek 1200 that needs some TLC. right off the back the brakes are shot, probably needs a few new accessories for the shifting system, as its a tension system (just move a lever a certain amount per gear). The tires are flat, its got an old speedo on it and a lock with the keys clipped on to the cable (not locked up though). I closed the door, but Im considering takin...

5. Was the first topic you created locked by a moderator?   (01 Jul 2009)
Was the first topic you created locked by a moderator? If it was, does it bother you to this day? I created my first topic here on Off-Topic Discussion. The topic was titled "Perfectionism" and it got locked because I mentioned video games; which were a key point in the topic. And, to be honest, it doesn't bother me a lot but if I think about it's kind of annoying. Overall, it doesn't bother me; I've moved on. What about you? Was the first topic you created locked by a moderator?

6. Overclocking with a locked BIOS   (06 May 2009)
Hello everyone, I was wondering, my computer's BIOS is locked when it comes to overclocking ( see my specs here ), and I was thinking about entering the realm of overclocking. I have an AMD Phenom II X4 940 Black Edition, so it's not like I really need overclocking in the first place, but I would like to see how far I could push it using the default cooler (I know, bad choice, but I will upgrade if I want to push the processor far enough). I recently found the AMD OverDrive program, which seems...

7. What Do People Think About Topic Regulation In Forums?, And When Are Y   (06 Apr 2009)
While staying "on topic" or at least in the neighborhood is a definite goal, this board''s thread closures take it to an extreme level. Seriously draconian - it is VERY difficult (for me, at least) to get any sense of "community" when it feels like stepping outside a topic for a micro-second will cause a thread closure. In the one instance where I''ve stepped out of topic for more than a post and the thread was moved by a moderator (rather than being closed) so that the new "off-topic" conversat...

8. Teens locked up for life without a second chance   (09 Apr 2009)
By Stephanie Chen CNN (CNN) -- It began as horseplay, with two teenage stepbrothers chasing each other with blow guns and darts. But it soon escalated when one of the boys grabbed a knife. The older teen, Michael Barton, 17, was dead by the time he reached the hospital. The younger boy, Quantel Lotts, 14, would eventually become one of Missouri's youngest lifers. Lotts was sentenced in Missouri's St. Francois County Circuit Court in 2002 to life in prison without parole for first-degree murder i...

9. Locked out and still got my first bass!   (29 May 2009)
Got my first bass of the season. Went to a spot I haven't tried before in J-Bay. Won't say exactly where. Got there and I wasn't allowed to walk from the parkway to the 1 train bridge. So I fished right in front of the parking lot. After an hour or so I was thinking about packing it in and WHAM! The rod starts bending and the drag is letting out. I only feel like it was too short a retrieve cause after that...nada. Got a keeper bass (barely at 28 exactly) took a good look at her and let her go....

10. Any Iphone users here thinking about the upgrade to 3.0??   (18 Jun 2009)
I started to download the new 3.0 software for my Iphone. After about fourty minutes I got an error message on the computer about the server timing out. I found I could no longer access the download site, I would get a time-out error message but could not re-try as the Iphone icon would then be gone. I closed Itunes and tried repeatedly with no luck. I then found the phone was locked-up and usless, displaying only a screen with a usb plug and an arrow pointing to an Itunes logo. This indicactes...
