Bit down - thinking about pulling out of the sale - opinions would be valued...
(01 Jul 2009)
Hello everyone
Well as you will know if you read my other thread, I thought I had found the perfect (or near anyway!) horse. However, I have now learnt a few more things about him - and would value your advice about whether to go ahead (luckily no money has changed hands yet).
1. He is a bit bargy both in and out of the stable - as in he will push you with his head. He is fine to lead though. Is this easy to cure? He has been a bit spoilt I think and even his owner admits that - she lets him gra...

Here's my .2 cents. Think about it, Management
(28 Apr 2009)
I have watched from a distance the ongoing battle to *regain" Truck.Net. I have kept quiet, with minor exception and I figure now is as good a time as any to hit the fan with it.
Let me think back a few years to when I lurked here. There were many, many posters...yeah, sure..the Wild West..I saw the other thread. But the truth is, it was a forum where we could come and discuss trucking stuff, gripe about trips, loads, roads, trucks and stoopit stuff. With a lot of humor thrown in. Zigzag, as big...

Something to think about...
(25 Apr 2009)
Now, not tomorrow or next week, we shall discuss the forbidden topic on message boards, religion. This issue is quite touchy for many people, so Id like to ask anyone in the topic to be open to criticism and other ideas different from your own.
Is religion necessary? A lot of people choose to follow one religion or another, and as we all know the differences of religion can lead to conflict. Story after story exists of one man harming another because he fears what he does not know. All wars can...

SWINE FLU : What i think about it
(12 Jun 2009)
Okay so to start of with, I live in new zealand. So it isn't that serious here. There is about 30 confirmed cases and 400 suspected. But i think that the media are making a big deal about it. Let me show you why i think so.
Take the swine flu and the common flu.
In about 2 months, The swine flu has made about 700,000 cases world wide.
Yet the flu has about 4,000,000 cases world wide also.
The swine flu has killed about 500.
The common flu kills about 100 or more a day
People shouldn't be taking...

When can a novice think about becoming a sharer
(21 May 2009)
Hi,
Wasnt sure if i should post this in the new or mature riders section? as Im both
I've recently returned to riding as an adult - the last time i rode was over 20 years ago. After lots of research (on here) I found a great local riding school where i feel very safe and confident and Im really enjoying my lessons.
I've only had a few so far but Im happy with walk, trot and canter although my control around corners with canter can be pretty bad, but at one lesson a week its going to take a while...

Opinions on PMC Ammo? First-hand knowledge prized above all else....
(13 Apr 2009)
With the shortage of ammo here in the Southwest, PMC ammunition has become one of the few brands available. I'd like to hear any first-hand opinions on their ammo; especially in .45 ACP and 9mm. I'm not interested in stories that start: "Well, I heard " or "Some people say " To me, first-hand experience trumps old wives' tales every time. Thanks.

One Hand: strapping a Bladed Hand equivalent, not Large Knife equivalent ...
(15 Jun 2009)
Greetings, all!
One of my NPCs lost a hand. Now, B147 says that one may attach the equivalent of a Large Knife instead of a hand. However, she used to weild a Long Knife/Short Sword (I never specified it precisely, but it was supposed to be large enough to count as a sword in the eyes of someone ), which is definitely a better weapon. But I'm not sure how controllable such a blade would be if attached to the arm. Then, another idea came to my mind: the bladed hand is designed to be strapped to t...

what Muslims think about the Islamic writings?
(27 May 2009)
Quote: :
2. Illicit relationships are a form of azaab-e-Ilaahi (Divine Punishment). Just as a person will be restless in hell-he will neither die nor live, similarly, after casting lustful glances, a person becomes involved in illicit fascinations and becomes restless and uneasy. He is completely deprived of a peaceful sleep. Both his secular and religious life is destroyed. Eventually he is admitted to an asylum. Today a large percentage of mental hospital patients are those who became insane...

something to think about
(03 May 2009)
Quote: : Not long ago, sports writer Selena Roberts compared the Duke lacrosse players to gang members and career criminals.
She claimed that the players unwillingness to confess to or snitch about a rape (that did not happen) was the equivalent of drug dealers and gang members promoting antisnitching campaigns.
When since-disgraced district attorney Mike Nifong whipped up a media posse to rain justice on the drunken, male college students, Roberts jumped on the fastest, most influential horse,...
