1. Miley Injured her foot!!!! (with pics) opinions please   (29 Jun 2009)
I returned home from vacation yesterday, and I noticed Miley had an injured toe. It seemed to be fresh, because the blood was still red. I gave her a shower, and it cleaned up well. It does not seem to be too swollen, just bruised with a minor flesh wound. My concern is that she is not wrapping her toe down around the branch or finger. She climbs everywhere and flies, and jumps, so it does not seem to be in any pain. Is she not bending it because it is swollen? Or does it look broken? I WILL tak...

2. Ideas for injured cat?   (07 May 2009)
Hi everyone. My 2 year old cat Coco was badly injured this weekend, in a fall we think - possibly trying to climb out of the cat fence. He has a large swelling on top of the base of his tail. The nerves to his tail are apparently torn and the nerves to his bottom are almost certainly permanently damaged as well, according to the neurologist. He was blocked up Sun so he had an enema then. Now the poop comes out whenever, especially if I am trying to express him. He presently has a catheter since...

3. Injured veteran won't get new donated house...   (22 Jun 2009)
http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-veterans-house22-2009jun22,0,4739400.story A nice charity went and built a triple-amputee an $800,000 house near Walter Reed in Pasadena, MD (pretty pricey real estate up there), but now they're taking it away and giving it to another vet!!! Wait! Whoa! Calm down. He already owns 2 houses that he bought with the $100K disability payment he got from the Army, but just, kinda, sorta, didn't tell anyone about them. According to the wifey, they're...

4. Poland: Dozens injured as boy wreaks havoc by playing trains with city's ...   (29 May 2009)
11 January 2008 By ALLAN HALL A POLISH schoolboy who turned a city's tram network into a giant toy by manoeuvring rolling stock using a TV-style remote control has been arrested after he caused chaos on the public transport system. Adam Dabrowski, 14, described by teachers as a model pupil and an electronics genius, hacked into the public transport network in Lodz to change the track points derailing at least four trams and leaving dozens injured. The teenager had also equipped himself with a ha...

5. Injured Seagull Issue   (29 Jun 2009)
This is still haunting me, so I would like to get some other people's opinions. Last week driving along a fairly quiet 30mph speed limit road & I came across a horrible sight. A seagull was dead on the road, obviously just hit & another one was panicking, clearly in shock with a broken wing. I pulled over my car & stopped all the traffic in the middle of the road to try and get the injured seagull on to the pavement. The cars continued to drive on, clearly not going to help me & people walked pa...

6. If Marta got injured like Daniela would the Sol fall apart???   (25 Jun 2009)
I'm not trying to jinx Marta or the team in general, but I've been curious what others think about how important Marta is to the team. If they could win without her for example, who would step up if something horrible happened to Marta?? Would Sol be a league leader even without Marta?

7. Woman injured as she's trampled by horse   (07 May 2009)
I hope Hellojet doesn't mind I'm posting an e-mail she sent out on her SAFE e-mail list about a safety reminder in light of several recent serious horse accidents in the region. First, here's a link to a story that just moved from The Associated Press. It's a good alert about being aware of how to position yourself when working around horses. Even well-trained horses can be dangerous. Below this link is information from Jet about a clinic this weekend. http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/natio...

8. Should illegal aliens collect damages if injured while working in U.S.?   (19 Jun 2009)
And what happens to them after their cases are settled?  Do they get deported?  Where is the shrugging smiley? I just don't know what to think about that because I am so anti-amnesty (except when kids are involved) so just the idea that they are able to go to court with their employers, for whom they were working illegally, is just inconceivable to me.  The employers should be fined for breaking the law and hiring illegal workers.  They should pay a settlement and the immigrant should be deporte...

9. Injured GI Gets New Face and Anonymity   (01 May 2009)
April 26, 2009 Associated Press SAN ANTONIO - His first glimpse in the mirror was largely a blur. Sgt. Darron Mikeworth had just come out of a drug-induced coma - his mind was still in a fog and he was so weak he could barely stand. Three weeks before, in Iraq, a suicide bomber had raced up to the right side of his Humvee, igniting a barrel of explosives that tore into the machine gunner's face. He nearly died. Mikeworth awoke in a hospital bed, thousands of miles away. He was relieved he still...

10. Injured ankle best thing that happened.   (31 May 2009)
I have not done cardio in a week due to the injury to my calf muscle. Well since then, I have gained 7lbs this week, and my shoulders, and arms, along with my quads are really filling out. I was doing 40 mins to 1 hr of cardio a day prior, trying to lean out a bit, and to make up for the extra calories I have been eating, as my normal portion sizes are quite big. Well this has been eye opening for me, as I can easily see, I was burning muscle tissue in the process. Also, I hate to even say it, b...
