Here's my .2 cents. Think about it, Management
(28 Apr 2009)
I have watched from a distance the ongoing battle to *regain" Truck.Net. I have kept quiet, with minor exception and I figure now is as good a time as any to hit the fan with it.
Let me think back a few years to when I lurked here. There were many, many posters...yeah, sure..the Wild West..I saw the other thread. But the truth is, it was a forum where we could come and discuss trucking stuff, gripe about trips, loads, roads, trucks and stoopit stuff. With a lot of humor thrown in. Zigzag, as big...

(19 Apr 2009)
Thinking about a lil lift opinions from owners please So I am new to the lifting aspect, off roading no, but lifting the 4runner yeah. Anyway since I cannot off road here in germany it would be cosmetic until I get back to the states (who knows when..) any suggestions, I am thinking 2" body and 2-3 suspension. Body 1st because they are cheaper. then palnning for a sus in the future
Any preferred brands? as far a quality and economic value? (Trying to stay cheap).

Thinking about going single-speed
(31 May 2009)
My rear derailer seems to be having a hard time shifting gears. It also requires constant adjusting, which I really don't want to waste my time doing; so I have been looking into converting my road bike (vertical dropout ) into a single-speed, mainly because I like simplicity.
Today I went out on a short ride (7km; I was tired from the 45km I rode yesterday) and I only used one gear (52/18). Surprisingly, I managed to do it, although there are some hills that will require practicing I think.
I g...

Thinking about getting a hi-lux
(29 Jun 2009)
Hello all,
I am new to the forum and would like to ask for your opinion of the Hilux.
I am considering getting a Hilux, as my current car is showing signs of old age. So I am moving from a car to a truck, for the first time, ever! The one I am considering is the Toyota Hilux 2.5G Double Cab 4x4 A/T.
Most of my driving is on the road but with a 4x4 I will probably attempt to take it off road for a bit of camping/nature/outdoor type of activities.
Honestly, I am considering the Hilux because of th...

Problem Now I have to really think about it.
(16 Apr 2009)
This is going to be a long post… A time back I posted this:
…even though I been unhappy with how they have handled me personally. Their first action should be to move on to a better (I assume that is what v23 is) program thereby getting them back in the game. Next, change their low sales tactic opinion of a lot of their customers (myself included). On this issue I do have an opinion… and suggestion (though how workable it is I don't know). Get rid of the sales people (sorry...bye guys) and incre...

thinking about becoming a Christian?

Thinking About Becoming a Christian?
by Bryan Gibson
We sure hope you are, because quite frankly, there is nothing better than being a Christian. To help you decide if you’re prepared to take this important step, here are a few questions to consider.
Do you believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God? When the jailer in Acts 16 asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” he was told, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ” (Acts 16:30-31). To be saved from your sins, you must first have complete...

Orient fans have painful Hearnia to think about
(08 Jun 2009)
Just spent much of my afternoon writing a column for the Orient rivals site. I usually do "Match Previews" but have come up with this fairly emotional piece.
Quote: : After fourteen years in charge we look back on Barry Hearn's rein as Orient chairman and look ahead to the future and discuss what that holds for Barry and most importantly, the club. Quote: :
In 1995, Leyton Orient Football Club's one hundred and fourteen existence looked to be in jeopardy when chairman Tony Wood lost his coffee g...

Thinking about a CF tandem
(28 May 2009)
I know that nobody can make this decision for me, but I would like to get some feedback.
For some time I have been intrigued with the idea of getting a carbon fiber tandem.
Right now my choice would be Calfee because they have the most experience with CF tandems and the price is reasonable compared to other manufacturers.
My wife and I have been riding tandems for 25 years. Our first tandem was custom built by Andy Gilmour out of Columbus steel tubing. After a number of years it became appearant...
