1. Behind Military Analysts, the Pentagon’s Hidden Hand   (14 May 2009)
It's a long but compelling read from David Barstow of the New York Times . For the TLDR crowd, there is a multimedia presentation . An excerpt: In the fall and winter leading up to the invasion, the Pentagon armed its analysts with talking points portraying Iraq as an urgent threat. The basic case became a familiar mantra: Iraq possessed chemical and biological weapons, was developing nuclear weapons, and might one day slip some to Al Qaeda; an invasion would be a relatively quick and inexpensiv...

2. WND: Analyst warns (Obama) eligibility could become flashpoint   (08 Apr 2009)
I can't believe this story has any legs, even with the tin foil hat crowd. What do the big brains here think about this issue? I really wish one of the many many court cases these folks filed actually went to court and the court could just hear them out and then tell them they have no point. Dissmissing these cases out of hand seems to be just fueling their crusade. I've got a buddy who is in the tin foil hat brigade. He sent me this article to bolster his case. My first question is has anybody...

3. Question from a pre-dent: Work as a DA or a market research analyst?   (25 Jun 2009)
Hey guys! So I'm a pre-dent trying to get into dental school. I've just ran into a dillemma and would like your opinions. I'm currently working as a market research analyst for a commercial real estate company. I've been working for here about 10 months now. I know this is nothing related to dentistry, but I recently decided that dentistry is the right option for me. Last week, I walked into a dental office to see if I can find a job as a dental assistant. The doctor said that he's willing to tr...

4. EPA apparently dismissed an analyst's report questioning global warming   (01 Jul 2009)
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009...est=latestnews A top Republican senator has ordered an investigation into the Environmental Protection Agency's alleged suppression of a report that questioned the science behind global warming. The 98-page report, co-authored by EPA analyst Alan Carlin, pushed back on the prospect of regulating gases like carbon dioxide as a way to reduce global warming. Carlin's report argued that the information the EPA was using was out of date, and that even as atmosph...

5. Notable Bank Analysts' Forecasts Diverge Sharply   (07 Apr 2009)
Notable Bank Analysts' Forecasts Diverge Sharply NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--The worst of the U.S. banking crisis is behind us. The worst is yet to come. Investors had to consider both opinions on Monday as two prominent Wall Street analysts disagreed sharply over the state of American banks. Outspoken analyst Mike Mayo said that while mortgage-related problems are "farther along," U.S. banks are likely to face "a rolling recession by asset class." He said problems among credit card, commercial real e...

6. Behavior Analyst   (17 Apr 2009)
That is my next educational quest. I just recently completed my autism endorsement on my teaching certificate. I was lookiing into doctoral programs to become some kind of inclusion specialist, but being a Navy wife I don't have enough time to complete a program before we are sure to move again. I can become a Applied Behavior Analyst in about a year's time but the new criteria won't allow you to work with your own child to complete the documented hours. I will find a way to get those hours done...

7. Have The NBA Analysts (ESPN, ABC) Lost All Credibility?   (11 Jun 2009)
Have The NBA Analysts (ESPN, ABC) Lost All Credibility?   I can recall not too long ago (Houston Series) Van Gundy s**tTING on Kobe CONSTANTLY throughout the series, but as soon as The Lakers pulled the series out, he did a complete 180, and is now in the process of topping Kobe off... Then you have Bill Walton, who was just on "Mike & Mike In The Morning", Topping Kobe off, when just last year, I recall him always blaming Kobe for every game The Lakers lost, calling him overrated and praising L...

9. Gold has "Very Little Intrinsic Value" says senior analyst   (08 Apr 2009)
Part of an interview with Joe Magyer from The Motley Fool.... <<< Magyer also doesn't see gold as a hot prospect. "I kind of think about gold the same way I think about stamps or art, or baseball cards. It has very little intrinsic value to it it's basically just a really shiny, malleable metal unlike say oil, which has a lot of industrial purpose," Magyer said. "Sure, gold has some (value), but the reality is, most of the value in there is just driven by speculation and fear, unlike oi...

10. No vertical on B&K 1077B TV Analyst   (29 May 2009)
I picked up a 1077B a couple months ago. It's in great shape except for one problem - no vertical on the internal test pattern CRT - just a horizontal purple line ! I've checked the B+, 13GF7 vertical output tube, vertical transformer and they seem fine. So are the signals on my scope as compared to the service manual. I unsoldered one end of the vertical yoke winding and got about 1,300 ohms. I think that's about right since there are two 560 ohm resistors shown in the schematic in the yoke win...
