Operation: Cyclone
(15 Apr 2009)
All morning and early afternoon, I have been creating the basic art for something very interesting. I have been setting my twitter signature with a cryptic message about "Operation Cyclone". Now, what the hell is "Operation Cyclone"? It's a code name for a suggestion that I have been thinking about making, and I can assure that many people hear will like the idea.
Operation: Cyclone is something I would like to suggest as "The Girl Gamer Badge" on TOG. It's, shall we say, a badge for every femal...

Losses in Ducting
(13 Jun 2009)
I am installing a cyclone and am starting to think about the ducting. Does anyone know if there are any look up tables for losses in plastic ducting given a specific size of duct V's length.

world products cyclone+ 52012
(23 May 2009)
From what I have been reading on this site, the Professional Products intakes are a China copy of the Edelbrock manifolds. However, the Professional Products Cyclone Plus is actually slightly taller and has a rear water crossover, with ports. It does not appear to be like the Edelbrock Performer or RPM. My question is: Is there any advantage to a rear crossover water passage? The water comes from the front of the block back, so it seems that there would be no water transfer from head to head thr...

Electrical & CFM
(10 Jun 2009)
I have reached the point with the shed reno where I have to start thinking about the cyclone installation. Are there any creative electricians here? What I would like to do is run low voltage switching from each machine to the cyclone down in the yard. My ideal would be to run the wiring inside the ducting, exiting just above the blst gates onto each machine. So is there a contacter that will switch using 32V AC as I already have a 32V power supply. I can do it running a Clipsal can bus system I...

The good things of Assault Swordmages
(02 May 2009)
After reading AP (but that is mostly unrelated to the matter at hand) I started thinking about assault SM and wondered if, perhaps, they are not really inferior to shielding at all. Those following are my points to say that.
First of all, Assault SM tend to have a high Strength, which means:
- that you don't need Intelligent Blademaster, and therefore have a "free" feat slot that you can fill, for example, with Weapon Expertise to get an attack bonus higher than that of a Shielding SM;
- that yo...

First DC questions
(14 May 2009)
I am Thinking about grabbing a DC here in the next few days, my budget is pretty tight atm for new tools so I was wondering if anyone had an opinion on DC 1 DC 2 . This will be my first DC
Both are available at the Harbor Freight near buy. I'm thinking one of these along with a new bag with a lower micron and This cyclone system might be enough for me.. i'll only have it hooked up to one thing at a time 12 inch planer and table saw are the largest with my router beign the smallest. I't also will...

The 'half way thru 2009' music thread. What is your favorite album(s) so ...
(11 Jun 2009)
OK, so we're almost exactly half way thru 2009 and I'm wondering what the greater ES community is listening to at this point. So far it seems to be just an average year (imho) for music but I'm sure I've missed some stuff that has come out. So the question is, what's on heavy rotation on your iPod? I would like this to not turn into the "hip hop sucks" or "metal blows" thread. All opinions are welcome (I don't mind if you listen to classical, all recommendations/opinons are welcome in my mind)....
