1. 53 Willys Wagon drivetrain.   (27 May 2009)
Had a discussion about what I'm doing with my '53 Willys today. Got me thinking. This is all of course a long ways off down the road, but something to think about. I have the Super Hurricane I6 motor, T90 trans, and Dana 20 (pretty sure thats what they were) out of a '55 that I was going to rebuild to put into the '53 wagon. I originally was thinking it would be cool to make it as original as possible with what I have. But now I'm wondering how usable it will be? I'd like to be able to drive it...

2. new project opinions?   (13 May 2009)
Greetings Gentlemen, Just bought this 44 mb. Just wanting some opinions on what to do next. Someone nicely cut out the sides for easier access, Nice of them The way it looks is I would have to replace both the cowling front piece and the rear side piece to make this work. The front floor is also shot. Is this new MDJaun tub time? I am hesiatant to put a repro tub on this willys due to it being a matching number jeep. Also it is set up for an M8 dash mount. It has a gpw engine, but has been there...

3. CJ spare tire carrier?   (10 May 2009)
I think I'd like to get one for the side of my CJ2A....like this: So I can mount a spare like this: Also, I'd be interested in the skinniest spare tire that anyone has. I have 34's on right now, so anything that would be light enough to ride on there would be good. I'm going to have to think about reinforcing the tub inside where this mounts in order to keep from ripping off anything. `48 CJ2A, `54 CJ3B, `90 MJ, and an `02 KJ My Willys is your TJ's daddy

4. Serious Drag Race Car   (10 Jun 2009)
I wrote this eBay listing for my friend Keith's '40 Willys.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190312560633&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT It's something for me to think about whenever I feel I have TOO much money tied up in a Studebaker. Going fast on a drag strip takes a totally different bank account Dick Steinkamp Bellingham, WA

5. might go to the track tomorrow   (10 May 2009)
Post # 1 So I am thinking about goin out to the track tomorrow to watch some races. I might even do a little test n tune. Well this is my first diesel. Truck is in sig, it is all stock except for a 5inch turbo back, and a willys whistler. How much boost should I launch at. I do have a boost gauge but I also have a stock tranny (auto), and I dont want to leave the tranny at the strip LOL. OH and what times should I exect to see, high 17s??LOL

6. body work question   (14 Jun 2009)
This summer I will be replacing my floor up to the firewall. I also need to replace the pasenger side cowl panel. The cowl panel looks like it is more important structurally than the floor in terms of tub integrity. I know this is a foolish question but.... Any opinions on which to do first? Thanks, 1952 Willys M38 serial # 68656

7. First thing that comes into your mind when you think of....   (20 Apr 2009)
Don't think about this, just write the first thing that comes into your head, as the results might be funnier that way: England: Green field and gardens France: Frogs legs (can't believe that was actually the first thing that came into my mind!) Spain: Yellow - the sun Russia: Snow Scotland: loch ness monster and ground keeper willys voice saying "north kilt toon" Australia: Neighbours & Home and away Jade goody: Shilpa poppadum USA: Big macs Canada: Forests Pakistan: Curry Wales: Lisa rainbowdr...

8. Old time hunting vehicles   (25 May 2009)
A previous thread about rifles used in the East during the 50's got me to thinking about the vehicles-make that usually cars-we used to hunt with in the early days and up till the 70's. How some of them got where they did and back still makes me wonder. May first "real" hunting vehicle was a K5 Blazer of around 71 vintage. No insulation or padding on the inside. You looked at the inside metal part of the fender. Seats just screwed into the floor. Rode like a buckboard. But dang that vehicle woul...

9. Intake horns: stock vs cfm plus vs homemade   (08 May 2009)
Ok guys, i was in a heated debate yesterday with a buddy of mine about these intake horns. i have a homemade 3" on my truck and personally love it. i gained 1 mpg (hand calculated) with no other mods. I am wondering what you guys think would be the best choice obviously it is not the stocker but do you really think that the cfm plus ats, or banks really make that much difference and are way better than the homade one? he says with all the research they prolly have it right whereas mine was resea...

10. Abbott, Costello & and a PC   (10 Jun 2009)
You have to be old enough to remember Abbott and Costello, and too old to REALLY understand computers, to fully appreciate this. For those of us who sometimes get flustered by our computers, please read on... If Bud Abbott and Lou Costello were alive today, their famous sketch, 'Who's on First?' might have turned out something like this: COSTELLO CALLS TO BUY A COMPUTER FROM ABBOTT ABBOTT: Super Duper computer store. Can I help you? COSTELLO: Thanks. I'm setting up an office in my den and I'm th...
