Movie Caption Contest #87: Probing
(08 Apr 2009)
It's time for a new contest, but first a little explanation as to what went on last week. I've been wanting to find a way to work Star Wars back into the contest just for laughs, but couldn't figure out how. By October of last year it hit me: April Fool's Day, which certainly gave me a lot of time to plan and come up with something similar for the Trek XI contest. A few hours with the DVDs and there you go. Hopefully we can do something similar next year and thanks for playing along. Now, on to....

Official BBC Contest #54: Beat the System!
This one's total cake to explain. You can build anything your little heart wants, so long as it doesn't clash with the BZP rules, naturally. Just let that imagination run free. Open mic night. Multiple MOCs in your entry, transformers, woven baskets. It's all good.
Oh, and also, you can't use a single piece of System in your MOC.
Yes, we do most definitely mean it. If we find anything that's classified as System in your entry, you will be disqualified m...

Workflow questions:
(24 Apr 2009)
I'm posting here because this forum seems to be populated by the more experienced and serious amateur-pros.
Lets say I take JPEGs from the camera into Photoshop. Aware that multiple JPEG saves degrades the image each time, I'm thinking of getting a large (1 T) external HD and storing all the pics as psd, the Photoshop loss-less file type (3 MB to ca. 30MB). Then I would do PP, save as psd but for printing, resize, crop, etc. and save as JPEGs on the external drive, using the main HD for original...

OTfest 2009...
(21 Jun 2009)
Since the original thread was mistakenly closed (it happens), I decided to put this up.
( Solidruss did give permission for this. )
This is a bit of a read (Just a warning for any lazy folk out there)
What is OTfest?
A showcase of talents/creativity in OT. You submit your entry in different categories (short film, poem, short story, photos, photoshop, song, music video, etc...) Then everyone votes for the best submissions for each category. The winners win. Sort of like the OTcars, but without t...

(10 May 2009)
Launching a site that is a portal for articles written about the production, design, and event management of the special events industry (corporate events, weddings, social events, etc) - The site name is Special Events World
I need a catchy logo that is clean yet creative and fun. What I mean is that the logo needs to be professional, but also capture the creativity of the industry. The people using this site will be the event producers, event vendors, and designers.
Here are some bigger sites...

Photoshop Brushes
(16 Apr 2009)
Hey guys, its great working among some truly skilled photoshop users, I'm ok myself but my style doesn't require much expertise, and so im not too adept with the program. I was wondering if anybody knew a good site for free downloading of brushes for photoshop. What I'm particularly looking for are sort of fake paint splats, but it would be nice to build up a library of different things should i need them in future.
Thanks in advance for your help!
edit: To take advantage now I've created a thre...

RubyMoon's Art Stuffs
Hey there, er.. RubyMoon (aka zeph) here, and I found a new hobby: Drawing!
I'm still a beginner (novice, if you like to call it) when it comes to creating fanart and CG-ing them in Photoshop. I'm still trying my best to improve my RO fanarts every now and then, so don't worry.
I'll try to post my fan arts one by one (as I finish them, lol), so everyone can see it and comment to their heart's content. I'd love to hear some comments and suggestions from all of you, ROE membe...
