When it comes to faulty console hardware, when do YOU give up?

I had a 60 GB PS3 and I loved it. Then it became as loud as a fucking train, and Sony said "Not My Problem", so I sold it. I am now patiently waiting for the slim.
I bought a DS on Launch day, but it had a few dead pixels on it, so I had it exchanged. The new unit had dead pixels as well, got it exchanged. Next unit had broken wifi, so I got it exchanged. This continued till....
My DS Lite was bought at launch, and it had hinge issues. I exchanged it, again hinge issues...
I am not gonna say how...

Telkom BS with faulty router

Hi All
I would like some opinions regarding this.
One of my branches purchased a mega 105 for R899 cash from telkom a few months back and this unit is now faulty, so now i am returning the faulty unit as it is still under warrantee but,
They don not have stock of Mega 105's anymore so now they offering me some Billion unit but these units go for R1399. Now they want me to pay in the difference.
Are they allowed to do that ? I mean if my product is under warrantee they must exchange it with the s...

I just bought an '03 Saab 9-3, 2.0T engine, 80k miles, stock condition. My previous performance car has been an '88 Toyota Supra Turbo (intake/exhaust, close to 300HP), so at some time this Saab will be modified ;-)

I'm just putting out feelers here to see what other CA readers would have done or would do in this situation.
In 2006 I bought a JVC Camcorder from Dixons Online. I bought it in June in time for an annual holiday but it didn't arrive until nearly three weeks later, well after we had gone on holiday. I contacted the Courier who stated they had returned it to Dixons after the usual seven days as we had not made arrangements to collect it.
Dixon's agreed to resend it however it was September before...

Been going through the side quests since yesterday when i brought the game and have come across a problem with a quest.
Its called Reniks end and i cant finish it.
I have searched the internet in sight of an answer and cant find out why he doesnt apear in the place he should be in..

Upgrading a faulty card

A few weeks ago, I posted this thread about a 9800GT I bought which went bad. Well, I sent the card back, got a new one and all was good. For about a week until my replacement bit the dust as well.
Sinse it's been a couple of months since I bought the card and also as I don't fancy risking more wasted time on another replacement which will probably break again, I figure I might as well upgrade to something a little newer. As my budget is really only about £150, is it worth sticking with 9 series...

Oil filter experts please weigh in on faulty filter:

Here's the story. I changed my oil recently on old reliable and found that the filter had a distinct rattle to it (think spray paint can). I had never heard anything like this and have probably used 100 of this particular filter. So, I emailed and they offered to diagnose if I sent it to them which I did.
The filter was cut apart with findings, "that the filter's element guide spring was upside down."
No, sort of indication as to if this would be detrimental to my car or not was given. Not that...

SPP 3.3 destroys iso 50 pictures from DP1, it is not the DP2 that is faulty...

I could not find the best thread to attach this to:
I tried to compare the blown highlights discussion and reds in a single image and I chose a red rose. I was not aware that I chose an ISO50 picture from my dp1...
I was shocked! This is a 100% crop of the left corner, the reds are the same, the highlights are OK, BUT. The trees are completly destroyed by the new SPP3.3 (i am on a mac). Left is SPP3.3, right is SPP3.2

I think it is a complete failure. What they are teaching us is simply step by step procedures and basic memorization, which we all forget when the class is over. Mathematicians and scientists need to know how to work around problems and think abstractly, which they don't teach in school. I'm in college and it is so frustrating to know that I am wasting most of these years memorizing pointless shit which I am going to forget over the summer. And for the first two years you don't even learn anythi...
