Sports Opinion: Allen Iverson
(18 Apr 2009)
I found this article to be really well writen in my opinion. It is about Allen Iverson, but it touches on race, economy, and things a lot of us have on our mind.
http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/9...nswer?MSNHPHMA
Quote: : No question, Iverson was never the Answer
DETROIT - No one wants to blame The Answer. We never do. He reminds us of our own shortcomings and failures.
In the pantheon of spoiled, media-cuddled, overhyped professional basketball players, Allen Iverson reigns supreme.

Pistons Struggling, Looking to Improve
June 4, 09
What a change a year can make! Last season the Pistons saw their share of ups and down like so many other teams, although they had more ups than downs til the 2nd round of the playoffs came the Wizards came to town. It was more of the same as the previous year as the Wizards beat the Pistons to knock them out. Fast forward another half a season and the Pistons sit in the bottom 5 teams in the league (win %). This are only...

That ESPN article on Chauncey Billups is the best is a long time
(11 May 2009)
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/eticket/story?page=090511/billups
It's a long read, but if you don't you're missing out. My respect for him just increased even more.
ENVER -- One of Chauncey Billups' ex-teammates -- and there are about a hundred of them -- has his nose pressed against a TV set. The Denver Nuggets have just called time, in the middle of a tight playoff game, and the ex-teammate can't help but notice Chauncey rounding up all the players, all the misfits and flakes, and pok...

Just what is a Superstar?
(02 Jun 2009)
Westbrook36 is a long time respected poster on our Philadelphia forums, whose opinions I agree with other then his demoralizing Boston due to the Philly/Boston rivalry. Yes, we hate Boston's guts and I'll never root for anyone that's donning Celtic Green in my life. But I can acknowledge a good team and good player when I see one. KG is a HOF PF/C that will go in the hall, even if you don't take his title into consideration. One of Westbrook's latest opinions is that we need a superstar. This "n...

Is this the Golden Age of the NBA?
(15 Apr 2009)
Quote: : According to the media, announcers, talking heads and most fans there is a lot of history playing in the NBA right now.
Tim Duncan is universally announced as the best power forward ever, and Kevin Garnett is right there with him.
Kobe Bryant (whether true or not) has been called "the best basketball player on the planet" for years now, and is widely accepted as the best shooting guard without the initials MJ in NBA history...and Dwyane Wade is waiting in the weeds to join the party.
NB...

Dell's Pointless Lists - Greatest NBA Shooting Guards
(21 Apr 2009)
Like the small forward, the shooting guard is asked to be a versatile player. While his main job is to score points, he often assists in running the offense or moving over to forward when a coach with a wild hair wants to “go small.” He can provide an extra body when a team wants to crash the boards particularly hard or be looking to leak out when a team wants to run. With no further adieu, here are…

VC – Clearing up the Misconceptions
(26 Jun 2009)
I think it’s time for someone to clear up the misconceptions about Vince Carter once and for all. After he was traded today I spent a lot of time reading people’s thoughts about Vince on many different boards including the general board and of course the Orlando board. I saw that there’s so many misconceptions about him floating around still and I think now that he’s back in the limelight it’s time to clear up these misconceptions.
First, lets start off with the worst misconception and that is t...

Vince Carter - Clearing up the Misconceptions

A good read posted by a VC fan by the name of "Mad Balla 15" from REALGM forums.

Sam Smith on 2010, BG, AI, Rudy, 2 JJs, Deng, and more
(04 Jul 2009)
Quote: : Ben was always a professional with the Bulls. He treated people maybe the best of everyone on the team. He was always a standup guy with the media and never made excuses. He basically came to play and did the best with what he had. I thought the rap about no defense was overrated. There arent many guys in the NBA who are great or even good defenders. He wasnt Michael Jordan, which everyone labors under at some point with the Bulls. Remember when he was a rookie and making all those ga...
