Iran's current superstar: reform candidate's WIFE
(28 May 2009)
TABRIZ, Iran – Presidential hopeful Mir Hossein Mousavi waited in the wings as his wife warmed up the crowd. Zahra Rahnavard quickly had them roaring in approval — and her husband beaming — as she ticked off her demands for women's rights and other reforms.
"We love you, Rahnavard!" shouted the Tabriz University students, as Mousavi clapped.
While the political power couple is a common fixture in the West, Rahnavard is rewriting the role of political spouse in conservative Iran — and could give...

Do you base your vote or support on how well a candidate relates to you?
(08 May 2009)
I once heard a pollster say that a significant amount of voters base their support for someone on the grounds of "I like you, are you like me?" Is this true for anyone here? I was thinking about some of the people I've supported in the past, and there are qualities in them that I can relate to outside of their politics.

Justice Candidate
(03 Jun 2009)
Been thinking about her a bit more...
it seems, based on her record, that she would do a good job. I have to hope/wonder if her posturing WRT race/guns is more to appease obama and get his support, than what she would actually do.
She worked her way up, has nothing positive to say about government 'help', and has been a pretty straight shooter on everything she has ruled on.
The fact that she gets reversed a lot makes me wonder if the problem isn't her, but the higher courts being too willing to...

Windows 7 Release Candidate
(29 May 2009)
You can download the Release Candidate for Windows 7 and install it.
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win.../download.aspx
I downloaded it a couple days ago from Microsoft Technet. It is now open to the public.
I am going to install a dual boot with my XP and see if there was any changes from the Beta version to the Release Candidate. The Beta version didn't impress me all that much over Vista.
If you don't load it, post here what you think about it compared to other Microsoft operating systems.

No spook...fourth level candidate?
(10 Jun 2009)
I have been thinking about another post where they are looking for a 6-10 yo well broke 4th level candidate that has no spook. For me I thought it would be more likely to find a 16-20 yo 4th level trained horse with no spook than the age range requested. I asked around and the first thing said was that the no spook and the 4th level horse in the younger age range are two different horses. When you need a higher level of reactivity to get to 4th level...then the fitness required to train and lear...

Candidate for U.S. envoy: Israel must unilaterally quit West Bank
(25 Apr 2009)
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's candidate for Israeli ambassador to Washington, Dr. Michael Oren, supports a unilateral Israeli withdrawal from the West Bank and an evacuation of most of the settlements.
Oren, a visiting Georgetown University professor, said in a lecture there last month, "The only alternative for Israel to save itself as a Jewish state is by unilaterally withdrawing from the West Bank and evacuating most of the settlements."
Oren, a Middle East expert and senior researcher...

IDET candidate seeking advice
(02 Jul 2009)
Hi, I am new to this board. While doing research on the internet, I thought it might be a good idea to talk to people that understand what I'm going through.
I have had chronic low back pain for a little over 4 years now. I was involved in a car accident and my back has never been the same. I have done physical therapy, chiropractic care, massage therapy, acupuncture, steroid injections and have even been prescribed cymbalta (even though I am not depressed). While the above treatments caused som...

Georgia candidate for governor says sex with mules, watermelon behind him...

Rude Pundit likes to tell the joke about a man sitting in a bar who says to no one in particular, "A man can spend his life building bridges. Do they call him John the Bridge Builder? No. A man can spend his life raising crops. Do they call him John the Farmer? No. But you screw one goat . . ."
When you're a reporter, you occasionally have to ask uncomfortable questions of someone. In this case, I landed an interview with the Georgia Creator'...
