Is the growth of the state inevitable?
A lot of arguments within libertarianism I have heard are between anarcho-capitalists and minarchists and constitutional libertarians such as Ron Paul. The minarchists argue that we need a state to secure our freedoms, but that it must be limited so as to not encroach on our freedoms. The anarchists argue (among other things) that the state will always grow, and trying to keep a 'small' government is an exercise in futility.

having been on my site for five years, and enjoying a largeish plot which i share with my hens, myself and three of my fellow plotholders are stunned at our committees decision to start halving all available plots and deeming them garden only plots. they have even bypassed two people who are on the waiting list who want to keep hens, and made two small plots one of which was offered to a friend of the chairman, who wasnt even on the waiting list. These people are dictating to evryone on the site...

Ok here's the scenario: you get to pick every member of the house and senate with out picking the actual people. You can only pick them based on variables outside of actually identifying individuals (party, race, experiences...) with reasons... go!
Here's mine for senate (take the number as a percentage for the house). I want you all to know I am completely serious about every pick I made, some may seem comical at first but if you think about it I am crazy enough to have these opinions.

this started off as a very small correlation, but it was one of those things that just confirms itself the more one looks. someone has probably put this up in a thread, or maybe it's just common knowledge, but I'll just have to take my chances, either way it's my first thread and I don't care if it's perfect or not. So i guess I'll just get on with it, instead of wasting everyone's time.
