Idealism is dangerous
(03 May 2009)
I was thinking about the other thread about how it seems like Christians are more likely to use torture. Personally I don't think this is intrinsic to religion but is more of a side effect of a particular brand of message spreading (e.g. using hell as a big stick).
This leads me to the bigger thought that religions and other memes cause thought patterns to become more static. Anytime you have an absolute rule of something instead of being flexible about a particular situation after looking at th...

Dangerous game reaction time
(29 May 2009)
The thread on Ruger No 1s for dangerous game got me to wondering from you guys who hunt them.
Of course, a perfect shot is desirable, but how feasible is it for a single shot to uncouple a large and dangerous animal? I suppose it depends on the L & D animal, but say...a buffalo?
If follow-up shots are important, and they must be in a number of situations, what is the percentage that the animal will be DRT (dead right there) and not place the shooter in a melancholy situation?
I've heard the argu...

Security quetion... dangerous hook in my bar !
(12 May 2009)
Hi there !!!
Talking with other kitters, we are not sure about how to setup the hook that's marked in red in the photo, (and I have not the manufacturer manual).
We was thinking about this setup, and we guess that it could be dangerous in extreme conditions, due the open hook.
So, maybe I have setup it wrong.
Do you have some diagram, or schema or graphic about how to set up this bar?
Thanks all in advance

"Dangerous" Banks in PVP
(05 Jun 2009)
As some of you may be using the 26k trick, I was thinking about keeping a list here of all the banking spots over whole RS that are NOT safe, meaning you can bank AND gain drop potential at the same time!
I currently only have the knowledge of these two spots:
Bounty Hunter Bank (*) Rogue's Bank Soul Wars Bank ZMI bank (*) Oo'glog bank (*) Tarn's Lair (*)
The places marked with (*) are multicombat zones, so beware here!
The banks marked with (*) require you standing outside, and clicking "Bank b...

what do you think about this? nitrite, meat danger etc
(19 May 2009)
Totally clueless here, just have seen some posts on here about nitrites added to meats being toxic to our health and some people try hard to avoid them, however I just came accross something interesting.
It explained -Nitrite in meat greatly delays development of botulinal toxin (botulism), and prevents the toxin malonaldehyde from being produced in the meat -which naturally happens when meat is exposed to the air. (oxygen) -Which is also strongly linked to causing colon cancer.
So because all m...

Do you think bunk beds are dangerous?
(26 Apr 2009)
This is a serious question. We have five kids and are running out of bedrooms. I'm thinking about bunkbeds....but does anyone think they are dangerous? I'm so worried about the younger ones playing on top and falling out and breaking their necks. Do you all think this is a real danger, or is it a non-issue? I just don't know. I've never had five kids before (oldest one is 11, three girls and two boys.) And I've never had bunk beds.
Please advise! I think bunk beds would be great and also fun. An...

What is More Dangerous?
(22 May 2009)
This is just a simple stupid little discussion that is fairly light hearted but I was sitting here thinking about it and really I can't decide.... So what do you think...
Out of a compound bow, a 4-5" service handgun, and a bladed weapon... Which is more powerful?
A bow has range, will cut through kevlar, and is quieter than a suppressed gun. It can be had without a background check, generally doesn't get you looked at, and an arrow can easily create a nasty permanent wound channel and is a pain...

Is Ash dangerous to every one around him?
(07 Jun 2009)
Think about it, every time some one leaves him that person is safe, never attacked by Team Rocket and has a dull life. But whoever comes with Ash on his crazy adventures they always get into some wakcey situation. Even Team Rocket said it one time "Every time we tangle with the twerp we always end up.."
LOL just some thing I was thinking about while watching the series a bit agoXD
