I was out riding the Komodo at the Mansion today (which really RAWKED my world) and noticed a few things that I take for granted b/c I've been riding for a while...that a nooblet may not even think about. Most of this spawns from riding behind a noob or non-skilled hack that just makes me cringe when I watch them pick a line or treat their bike like a personal Sherman Tank and plow through something w/o finesse.

With the recent announcement of Google Wave I started looking into how it worked, I then found that work and research on Real-time Collaborative Editing Systems has been around for some time (the first work was done in 1989).
Google "introduced" MapReduce however that had been around for some time in functional programming as well.

A while ago I asked a question about the use of Macro lens ( http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1034&message=31163017 ). I now have another question.
I researched the Nikkor 105, Sigma 105 and 150, and the Tamron 90 and it appears that in all cases when it comes to taking Macro pictures (1:1 or greater) one has to resort to manual focus. With the Nikkor 105 the VR is also quite useless for Macro.

Hey everyone,
So my band and I are finishing up recording and it sounds great but it seems it is just lacking something. That something special, cool, weird, to put it over the edge and have it sound really cool. The little un-noticable things that without would make the recording sound dull. so i was wondering does anyone have any cool things they do to the different instruments, vocals, etc.... or does anyone know of any forums or links that talk about things you would never even think about....

Alright I've noticed nowadays alot of people dont know some of the techniques or "moves" of soldier front and so I guess we should make a list and a how to thing so new players can learn.Add on what you think about the techniques and whatever you know about them!

I work on a medium/large company that follows what I think are some good practices for development, maybe not the best ones but good enough.
We've some development resource that get implemented on the basis of "do, test, if it useful the use, else throw away". I've found that most of the so called best practices are, sometimes, ideally great but unfeasible or even harmful in real life.
