Topps redemption is a joke
(27 May 2009)
Today I received in the mail (3 months after redeeming, not bad) an Isiah Thomas 2008-2009 Topps signature auto card along with a photocopied letter from Topps consumer relations team. The letter stated that the card I had redeemed (2008-09 T-51 Murad BK - Anthony Randolph Mini Autograph) could not be obtained due to circumstances beyond their control. I was under the impression Topps printed the cards and I'm 99.9% sure Anthony Randolph is still alive.
The letter then goes on to say that they w...

Topps redemption replacement came in today!
(29 Jun 2009)
Ok so what do you guys think about this redemption?
As some of you may know, or don't, I opened two boxes of 07-08 topps letterman and pulled a few nice cards. And also got three redemptions: a lottery pick, a raymond felton patch auto, and a gilbert arenas auto.
Today in the mail, I had a few good things waiting for me, one of those was the redemption of the gilbert arenas auto. and the letter ONLY mentioned the gilbert arenas, sooo perhaps there's more?
There was a letter that said "due to cir...

1957 Topps?
(11 Apr 2009)
I have several cards that I beieve are from 1957 since the pictures match up to the numbers...but these cards are blank on the back (Ted Williams, Whitey Ford, Yogi Berra, etc). Can anybody tell me about these? I have not been able to find anything out about them. My dad got these (probably a random purchase judging from the amount of cards) before I was old enough to start collecting but it never occurred to me to ask him about them before he passed away. Now that I am thinking about selling my...

1959 Topps baseball - official PSA thread
(13 Jun 2009)
What the heck! I think that it is about time to start a thread on the great 1959 Topps baseball set. I hope that a bunch of you are with me on that. So here goes.
First of all, here are links to my Master Set and Basic Set. In my Master Set, I am missing only one card in it....the Spahn Born in 1931 variation card. Other than that card, I want to upgrade 3 PSA 7's....the Hoak card, Nichols No Option Statement and Hanebrink No Trade Statement variation cards. After that, I will be 100% 8's and 9'...

1967 Topps or 1967 Philadelphia?
(24 Jun 2009)
I've decided to turn back the clock on my next set build. I'm frankly not interested in pack breaking hoping that I will pull that low #'d card with an auto or some type of clothing on it. Nor do I wish to need cards that are seemingly being held hostage by a seller who dreams they will get high bv on their treasured cards. My 2000 CE Supreme set build is rapidly winding down due to the scarcity of cards being listed and I've simply lost interest in the Topps Cracker Jack set that I started. So...

75 Topps Help
(09 May 2009)
I am thinking about building a RAW 75 Topps in NM-NM/MT condition. I already have the Brett in PSA 9, Rice and Carter in PSA 8.5 and have all intentions of adding the Yount in PSA 9. A couple questions, How difficult is it to find RAW cards for this set in NM-NM/MT condition, and what kind of prices can I expect to pay? Ive thought about trying to add all the key cards in PSA 8+ grade and just have the commons in RAW form, but my budget is of concern as well, as I have a couple other projects go...

Scanning my Dodger collection - next up: 1953 Topps!
(17 May 2009)
I finally finished scanning my Brett Butler collection, which pretty much interests only me and maybe a few other '80-'90s era player collectors. Actually, it was a lot of fun - I hadn't looked at some of these cards for quite a while - it was nice getting reacquainted with them.
For years though, I've been wanting to scan & catalogue my first love, which was the reason I got back into collecting 15 or so years ago. I've been a huge Dodger fan since I was a little kid, first collecting the '78 s...
