Hours/physical involvement of residency?
(08 Jun 2009)
I'm currently considering path as a specialty, but (because of physical issues) hours/physical requirements and stress are very important to me long. So far I've come across some contradictory opinions about path residency (ie its a 'lifestyle' specialty with good hours vs residents have to work at carving out personal time during residency, have hugely stressful boards, study round the clock outside of 'on duty' hours, etc). Basically, my questions is--does Path residency feel 'hard' (not intel...

(24 Jun 2009)
Yay, more nixon tapes are released!
New York Times posted:
WASHINGTON On Jan. 23, 1973, when the Supreme Court struck down state criminal abortion laws in Roe v. Wade, President Richard M. Nixon made no public statement. But privately, newly released tapes reveal, he expressed ambivalence.
Nixon worried that greater access to abortions would foster permissiveness, and said that it breaks the family. But he also saw a need for abortion in some cases, such as interracial pregnancies.

Hezbollah and the Opinions of Others
Hassan Haidar
Hezbollah hinted that Der Spiegels article accusing the party of involvement in the assassination of Rafic Hariri came from or was manufactured by Israel. Hezbollah said that it was a part of the campaign to smear the party and sow strife among the Lebanese. It embraced Walid Jumblatts description of the article as more dangerous than the Ain al-Rummaneh bus. If the article is this dangerous, why does Hezbollah deny the media its right to pa...

Need input after 2nd opinion & PT w/traction. Confused!
(12 Jun 2009)
Hey, everyone. Wanted to give an update on what has been happening along with my questions.
I did start PT and just had my 6th visit. At PT they put me on heat, did some manual traction and muscle work. Then did traction on the machine. I was worse after the first traction session. Next visit the PT did traction manually and discovered I needed my head tilted a certain way or it aggravated my condition. The subsequent sessions went fine but no noticable improvement from using it. At this point I...

what Muslims think about the Islamic writings?
(27 May 2009)
Quote: :
2. Illicit relationships are a form of azaab-e-Ilaahi (Divine Punishment). Just as a person will be restless in hell-he will neither die nor live, similarly, after casting lustful glances, a person becomes involved in illicit fascinations and becomes restless and uneasy. He is completely deprived of a peaceful sleep. Both his secular and religious life is destroyed. Eventually he is admitted to an asylum. Today a large percentage of mental hospital patients are those who became insane...

Belligerence of Individuals involved in Music
(05 Jul 2009)
In these times of a over saturated music industry it makes you wonder why there are so much individuals who are involved in the underground of the music industry involving themselves with a detrimental mindset towards others. Will the times of one who have integrity and a inspiration outlook on music in general ever return? Will the belligerence of the ignorant mindset of opinions and bad mind thinking cease?

How involved is this structure
(05 May 2009)
Having read several thousand posts on these forums (some even fire related) I have come to the conclusion that we are not all talking the same language. As a simple exercise I am posting this picture. Based on what you can see how involved is the structure? And take a moment to think about what you would say if you rolled up on this incident.

Staff involvement in discussions
(29 May 2009)
I'd like to see what the members have to say about this:
Question:
Does staff involvement in a thread spark your interest and encourage you to contribute on that topic? I'm talking about non-administrative involvement, i.e active participation in the discussion.
Please bear in mind when you pick an option to ask yourself the question and not worry about how it would affect others. Personal opinion as it pertains to an individual is being solicited.
