Anybody watching the UEFA Champion's League?
(14 Apr 2009)
I'm a strong supporter of FC Barcelona. The teams left are Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Liverpool, FC Porto, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Villareal.
I think the second leg of quarter finals are today and tomorrow. Just wanted to hear opinions of which teams will make the final.
A Barcelona - Chelsea Semifinal will be a spectacle! A Barcelona and Arsenal final will be amazing, considering what happened in 2006, and the fact that Henry left Arsenal shortly after to play for Barcelona.

New American Champions League?
(08 Jun 2009)
Following on from the thread about the lack of profitibility in the CONCACAF Champions League and the diluted interest in the competition, I would like YOUR opinions on a plan to focus the MLS and other developing leagues around a clear central goal:
...success in a trans-american competition that covers South and North America and generates enough revenue and interest to make it worthwhile, building on the success of the latter stages of the 'Copa Libertadores'.
The idea is to have a consistent...

Tevez considers future
United ace accepts that future could lie away from Old Trafford
Carlos Tevez has admitted that he could leave Manchester United in the summer after revealing that he has already had offers for his services.
The Argentinian's two-year loan is set to expire at the end of the season and at present United seem reluctant to make the move permanent.
The 25-year-old is a firm favourite with the Old Trafford crowd and has stated in the past that he wants to remain at the club.
But...

Fergie defends rotation

Fergie defends rotation
Sir Alex Ferguson insists he has never allowed player price tags to influence his team selection.
The Manchester United boss leaves no room for egos inside the Old Trafford dressing room, making it clear to anyone who dares to question his authority precisely who is in charge.
That approach to management has stood him in good stead down the years, with an enviable collection of winners' medals suggesting he knows best.
For that reason Ferguson is reluctant to change, re...

Football - Pellagrini new Madrid manager
(03 Jun 2009)
Manuel Pellegrini has stated that he always knew he would coach Real Madrid one day.
The former Villarreal boss was named as Real manager on Monday, shortly after Florentino Perez was announced as president.
The Chilean guided Villarreal, a town of around 50,000 inhabitants, to the UEFA Champions League on a regular basis and even led them to the semi-final stage in 2006 and the last eight last term.
Despite managing for just over 20 years, Pellegrini always had faith that he would get the oppor...

Is This What They Meant By Premier League Opposition?
(29 Apr 2009)
Premier League opposition, Premier League opposition, Premier League opposition: everyone seemed to think that FC Barcelona would never be tested until they confront one of the Big Four from the Premier League. They might have scored the most number of goals in the UEFA Champions League this season, their front three might be one of the most frightening in Spanish football history and they might have scored more league goals so far this season than Manchester United, Inter Milan and VfL Wolfsbur...
