Hello! thinking about buying a used T4x -novice SSD question

Hello everyone.
I've been reading the boards and find everyone here extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I'm in the market for a new thinkpad and I'm a little concerned about the new t400. I'm not sure if the keyboard and build is the same. I was thinking about buying a used t42 or t43 online. I can get one for about $300. In order to fix it up to my needs I will need to upgrade the memory and hard drive.

Thinking about getting iPhone, few basic questions

I hear you can't change the sms/email ringtones to custom ones. I searched this forum and found something called "ssh"ing into your iphone to change the ring files. Sounds easy, but do I need to jailbreak my iPhone to do this?
I make a lot of notes to myself in my car. This will be impossible without a tactile keyboard, so is there a way I could push a button and have my iphone start recording my voice?
What are the disadvantages of a jailbroken iphone? can I still use the apps I bought from the...

Steam reinstall problem (Dont even think about it Maestro)

So I uninstalled Steam and wanted to reinstall it to the same directory.
Im getting a barrage of error messages along the lines of error codes 1305, 1303 and 1317 with errors such as I dont have permission to access the drive, the original installation files cannot be accessed and so forth.
I know the above is not true since I do have full permission and access to the said files.
Has anyone experienced something similar to this with Steam?

thinking about getting another hard drive

I never download or keep anything in my sig rig. It is entirely for gaming. Sometimes I do like to download HD movie or game previews. And of course I also download game and software updates that I don't delete.
Even those files are not that big and do not require a hard drive bigger than 100gb's.
I have the 300gb WD Velociraptor and it works great. I love this hard drive. That got me to look into the 74gb 10k rpm WD hard drive. Just to keep things moving fast. It is also just about the right am...

Thinking about SSD

It definitely seems like an SSD is the way to go for boosting overall computer speed. I'm wondering if $130 for the 30GB OCZ Vertex is worth it though.

thinking about flashing my 360 (benq)

orginally i had my 360 sent away to be flashed - i didn't really count on having to update it again
i'm considering flashing it myself to 1.6 (otherwise the postage cost to and back is going to start to really add up) is it possible to flash it without the orginal firmware?
