Something for all the peace loveing pot-smokers to think about...
The 231 drug murders recorded in Ciudad Juarez in February dropped to 64 in March, the army says. But the number crept up to 81 in April and is already over 30 for the first week of May, according to police and media tallies.
Mexico's drug war death toll is running at around 2,300 people this year, slightly higher than at the same point in 2008. A record-breaking 5,612 people were executed in Mexico’s drug war in 2008.
Mexico's da...

Thinking about getting the S60 Rear
(14 May 2009)
I have been buying parts that add power to my car, and this whole time I know I should upgrade the rear because it is the weakest link in the car. I have been looking into the Moser 12 bolt and ford 9 inch but I think I like the S-60 the best. It seems like it has the best durability for peace of mind and at the same price with less loss. I don't need it yet but I don't want to wait until I break the stocker either. Is anyone here running this S60 rear and even if you are not I would like to hea...

On war and peace... and the lie of peace... since 1945
(25 Jun 2009)
So I was thinking about it the last word war was WW II. That ended in 1945.
So here are the conflicts that have personally affected me (in more than just read about it in a book)
The first was actually WW II. No I was not alive during the whole mess, but my dad is a survivor of the Hitler Travel plan. No, he wasn't in a camp, but a Polish Family was the reason for their survival. Recently his school friend was given the recognition for that by Yad Vashem. Yes, it took cajones to do that. And he...

Peace Settlements as a source of Income
(21 Apr 2009)
I'm enjoying my current game very much, but notice something the developers may have overlooked.
I've noticed that in IN, the AI countries, even the smallest, are able to amass a huge amount of ducats. I assume this happens when they take out loans to fight a war, no matter if there is no hope in them winning. I , as the player, and the AI, if you go to war every few years and time peace settlements correctly, can essentially fund yourself entirely by asking for hundreds of ducats in the peace s...

Thinking about the American Revolution: James Madison
To cherish peace and friendly intercourse with all nations having correspondent dispositions; to maintain sincere neutrality toward belligerent nations; to prefer in all cases amicable discussion and reasonable accommodation of differences to a decision of them by an appeal to arms; to exclude foreign intrigues and foreign partialities, so degrading to all countries and so baneful to free ones; to foster a spirit of independence too just to...

Can we have peace?
(23 Apr 2009)
Sadly, pondering lasting peace has been relegated to discussions of the failed hippee movement and idealistic teenagers who are too stupid to realize that their far-fetched ideas can never work (which Erikson predicts). But thinking about it recently, I feel that a sustainable, worldwide, general state of peace is achievable, not easily, maybe not soon, but not in the distant future, either.
If you think about it, all large-scale conflicts (that is, excluding interpersonal conflicts which will a...

what Muslims think about the Islamic writings?

2. Illicit relationships are a form of azaab-e-Ilaahi (Divine Punishment). Just as a person will be restless in hell-he will neither die nor live, similarly, after casting lustful glances, a person becomes involved in illicit fascinations and becomes restless and uneasy. He is completely deprived of a peaceful sleep. Both his secular and religious life is destroyed. Eventually he is admitted to an asylum. Today a large percentage of mental hospital patients are those who became insane...
