I'm new to the board - have been an Indy Car fan since I was a kid.
I have my own opinions about CART/IRL. This topic is not about any of that, so please don't go there.
This is a thought about the Kansas race that popped into my head, especially after re-watching the 2000 and 2001 CART Michigan 500 races.
I remember reading a few comments on here that the passing and lead changes were extremely lacking at Kansas. I agree. It reminded me of what oval racing was in the early to mid 1990's with CA...

What do you think about horse racing?

I'm totally ignorant when it comes to horse racing, but I do know one thing: The only time I have heard horse racing make the news is usually when a horse has had to be euthanized, or has had some horrible accident.
Do the "owners" of the horse care about the horse? Or in general, is this just about money?
I admit, I don't know. For all I know, they grieve deeply, painfully, when these horses are injured or killed.
Do the owners of horses care about the horses as "beings", or is this just an exp...

Thinking about getting back into racing.

A lifetime ago, I raced mostly legal 1/4 mile bring your own, street legal cars wasn't anything serious, no money or anything in it, just a rep. and alot of fun and laughs, was a blast. had an 84 Camaro Z28, Blown 383 stroker. KICK ASS car, I miss that car.
Seriously contemplating selling off everything but one amp, one cab, one guitar, a few pedals, and my bass rig, and picking up a Camaro or Mustang and start building it up
what do ya think? would you?

OPINIONS ON RACING BACK TO THE YELLOW FLAG???

Just wanted to get some opinions from drivers compared to fans.
I, myself do not like racing to the yellow! Sometimes we race back to the yellow when the track is almost blocked. Not always but sometimes.
One thing I really like is for the fast timers starting in the rear! That makes for a very exciting race. That is unless someone is a little soft on the pedal. But at least if they are too fast over their time, they are put to the rear.

Thinking about racing stripes

I own a red 05 SS/SC and i have a huge problem with rocks being attracted to the front of my car. I waxed my car today and noticed about 20 white dots on the front of my hood along with a larger white spot with some rust forming in the middle of the spot. This being a motivator, I decided it's time to look into either having the spots painted over or investing in race stripes down the middle of my car. Any suggestions on what style I should look into, and also if I should get them painted on or...

Opinions on Armstrongs Livestrong racing equipment

Is it just me or does Armstrong look a bit like a fred who has picked bits of bikes and equipment out of a skip?
I understand he is trying to promote Livestrong but would he not smarter in the Astana standard issue gear with a few Livestrong stickers etc strategically placed?

Lemmings (forza 3) what if your racing sim lost by 0.1 to GT5?
Cows (GT5) what if your racing sim lost by 0.1 to Forza 3?
alternatively guys what if your racing sim won by 0.1?
would a 0.1 defeat be a no biggie. would a 0.1 margin of victory be a HUGE victory?

Using Spinners for 1 & 2 player racing games - GGG Mini Racing Wheels?

I am getting ready to get some spinners for my control panel and have decided on Groovy Game Gear's TurboTwist 2. I plan to put two spinners on my control panel for 2 player racing games like Super Sprint and Ivan Stewarts Off Road. I would use them for single player racing games like Pole Position and Turbo as well. Are there a lot of people that use spinners for racing games? How is the feel and control when using a spinner?
