OK, I'm sure I'll get just the answer I expect in the "media player" area, but i'll give this a go anyway. I like collecting movies. 8. Blu-Ray players and LFE level? (22 Apr 2009)

It seems like alot of Blu-Ray players have the low LFE level issue. Why is that? I have had the Sony DBP-S350 since last August. I used to own a Yamaha RX-V659 receiver (non HD audio) and it was fine. Since upgrading to a RX-V3900 I noticed I have to have the gain on the receiver at about +3.5 db and on the sub at the 12:00 position as opposed to 0 db and 10:00 on my old receiver (using my Radio Shack SPL meter).
