Favorite album art cover
(28 Jun 2009)
I have been thinking about this for awhile. I really just enjoy looking at the album art of most of the of Montreal cd's. I can't think of any other bands that I take too much time looking at the covers of their cd's (although there are several I like- Lou Reed's Transformer, Sgt. Peppers, The Banana Velvet Undergound one).
My favorite cover are would be the Sunlandic Twins, I actually bought a poster of it. And then Adhils. Just wondering what other people's favorites were...

ON THE DAY: The Story of the Spirit of Scotland Pipe Band
(18 Jun 2009)
Hello Forum members!
I am sure many of you have heard about the documentary film that John McDonald has been working on featuring the Spirit of Scotland Pipe Band. You have probably seen the outstanding video clips he has been posting on YouTube and Facebook .
What you may not know is that John is facing a fast approaching deadline and is still short of funds to wrap this project up. John assures us that one way or another he'll get it done in time for the premiere showing in Glasgow on August 1...

DJ Hero's "The Art of the Mixdown"
(03 May 2009)
The Art of the Mixdown
The art of the mixdown is definitely an art form specific to each individual song. Each song contains many unique properties that, when compared to other works from the same artist, producer, or engineer, must be looked at through a careful scope. At the same time much of the music in the dance industry (which this article is designed for) share many of the same properties as well. Because of each projectÂ’s uniqueness and likeness, I hope to give some broad ideas to keep i...

A metal tattoo
(14 Apr 2009)
Hi, I'm 23 and I also wish to get a metal related tattoo. The thing is I want something at least tasteful. I don't want some sick bastard cannibal corpse album cover, or some satanic babies with octopus tentacles and shit coming out of them. Or baphomet goats. I want something that says "metal" to me without being a disgusting monstrosity that will scare my grandchildren lol.
I think the typical thing would be like, a skeleton playing guitar, or something playing guitar. But that seems to common...

Is the integrity of music dead via the internet? (Read OP.)
(23 Apr 2009)
READ AND UNDERSTAND THIS POST.
This is certainly a topic I have been pondering about as of late and one I consider to be essential, especially in the age of information technology.
You see, back when I started to become more interested in metal, I bought all of my albums. Downloading wasn't a viable option, torrent-ing was pretty rare, and "blogs" didn't exist. I usually purchased all of my albums from stores, and soon I had the ability (+ funds) to purchase online. I started doing so, but not b...

Thoughts and development
(16 Apr 2009)
Reprinted from my Live Journal
Yesterday someone pointed me to the comic "Loyalty and Liberty". I was aware of it, but had not read it up to yesterday. I recommend it. Its just getting started but the art and devotion to historical accuracy is worth your while.
I got to thinking though. One of the more pleasant changes I noticed in Loyalty and Liberty is that it is being told from the perspective of a Loyalist family. This has a potential in that most stories on the revolutionary war I have seen...

Interview With John From Crowned By Fire
(13 Jun 2009)
1.Give us a brief history of the band ? I know there is a lot of info on the Myspace page but can you give us a shorten version for the people that are too lazy to read !
Typical shit. Local dudes putting together the heaviest band of all time! And lotsa cheap beerÂ…
2.The band has its roots in some classic Metal but there is a Southern/Stoner Metal thing going on too.It must be a bonus to have that range of influences !
Kinda hard to avoid these days. Where CBF meets as far as influences is the...

Andy Sneap interview from 2005
(25 Apr 2009)
This was an interview I've done for the magazine I was working for back in 2005. The whole interview covered both Andy Sneap's works as a producer and his band Sabbat (they were still inactive at the time). I thought it would be interesting for some of you to read this maybe, so, there you go. If there's interest, I can put the second half of the interview where we discussed his productions etc...
1. First of all, a boring question but I want to hear the begginings of SABBAT from your own words....
