unpopular opinions you have on bands/artists
(30 May 2009)
I know this isn't very original but we've had a few "standard" music threads recently and this is inspired directly by all the jaw drops in the worst songs on classic albums thread.
- despite the fact that the beatles best albums are from 66 onwards, basically all their best songs are written before this. the early albums may be wildly inconsistent but I'd rather listen to eight days a week, she loves you, can't be me love, etc. than the vast majority revolver, sgt pepper, white album or abbey r...

Honeymoon for Goldilocks - Playa del Carmen
(03 May 2009)
Is there a place not too big, not too small with food that is just right? Not too much moving around but not too much time in a quiet place? As many of you know, I am a budget traveler that has never stayed at an AI resort. A luna de miel is a once in a lifetime thing and I want it to be special, luxurious, relaxing but fun too.
Here is the plan so far:
4 nights together in a PDC hotel and then we will stay at different places for the night before our boda. Move to Tulum for our beach wedding an...

Ever do "The Right Thing" then realize you should have STFU???:
(22 Apr 2009)
So yesterday a pallet of smokes was dropped off at the gate up here on the second floor (mezzanine). My stocker puts a pallet jack under the pallet, lifts and starts to move. The back layer on the pallet tips off the pallet and a case of smokes falls all the way to the first floor. This as a case of 60 cartons, weighs about 45 pounds and falls about 18 feet.
It clips a forklift (thank God for the headache rack) and misses an employee that is downstairs walking past, by less than a foot. Had it h...

So ANZ has a $500 million exposure to the failed Timbercorp tax deduction empire. What fools.
It's hard to know for whom to feel the most scorn - bankers stupid enough to back inherently flawed businesses or the mugs suckered into buying products on the lure of tax deductions - and the salesmanship that tends to come with particularly fat commissions.
And then there's Great Southern Plantations, trading p...

Sasha & Digweed : UK Tour Report
(25 May 2009)
Well I'm finally back and in recovery after the dynamic duos holy trinity of dates !
Pleased to report that the knees have held up well, although my back is aching down one side - probably from too much punching the air over the 3 x nights !
It was 3 x dates. 3 x totally different venues and one heck of an amount of tracks - with some absolutely brilliant moments. Admittably I think I'd reached near saturation point by the end of Sunday night into Monday morning.
Cream (Nation, Liverpool) Friday...
