Thinking about getting FIOS
(18 May 2009)
I live in northern NJ and have had Cablevision for my TV and internet for years. I've had no problems with them and the service is good if there's ever a problem. The only problem I have is that it's expensive. If I switch to Verizon FIOS, I can save $60 per month.
Can I get some opinions from the people who have FIOS? Is the internet as fast as Cable? Is the TV picture clearer? Is it worth it to change or am I just opening up a can of worms?
My neighborhood's all wired for FIOS, did anyone have...

The War Of Northern Aggression
(29 Apr 2009)
To better match the inappropriately attached poll and to match the moderators' ability to troll, the question has been revised.
WAS FREEING THE SLAVES A MISTAKE?
Edit: BE ADVISED:
Former topic title: Should the Confederacy won the American Civil War?
subtitle: A SERIOUS TOPIC
-title was changed to match the poll question (which was out of my control)
-former original post can be found directly below in the hidden text
EXPAND / COLLAPSE First things first: I would sincerely hope that ANY racist,...

Agricola's Northern Campaigns
(29 Jun 2009)
Continuing from the thread on 'Hibernia'...
Tacitus' descriptions of the northern British campaigns of his father-in-law Tacitus have long been regarded as essentially reliable - the only real questions raised being the modern locations of many of the places he mentions, and particularly the site of the final battle at Mons Graupius. More recently, however, several scholars have cast aspersions on Tacitus' reliability. In particular, the archeological work by the Roman Gask project has suggested...

I'm thinking about taking up Coronation Street again
(16 May 2009)
I miss it. I miss sitting on the phone watching Corrie with the occasional bitchy interjection about one of the factory girls. I miss talking to myself in a northern accent. I miss Blanche.
I'm going to get a television so I can start again (fuck watching it on the lappy, it's not the same).
Is there anything I should know? I haven't seen it since Leanne was a prossie.

(U.S. vs. U.K.)The Northern Star Presents:
(07 Jun 2009)
Presents:
XanMan sits in his office suite at LOPN reading a memo from his boss and wondering where it all went wrong. Eight months ago, he returned to the Lords of Pain Network for a couple of one-shots and ended up getting blown away with an offer to become a full-time big-shot talking head for them; being offered both his solo outlet, "The Northern Star," and a joint effort, "Excuse The Aggravation," prominent exposure. Now, though, things are looking a bit dire for the latter. Since he first...

F/S: 06' R1200GS Super GS that can fly... Northern Virginia
(21 Apr 2009)
... No really it can fly...
The sidecar that is.
I'm putting my GS out there as a feeler for anyone who would really like a well sorted out hack. If you've been thinking about a sidecar, here is your opportunity. I will take offers on the sidecar alone which will attach to any R1200GS 06-07 year model. What really attracted me to the Hannigan was the fact that I could detach the sidecar in 15 minutes and ride the GS solo without any issues.
Here are some pictures I've taken over the past few tre...
