Iranians Are Using fring To Voice Their Opinions
Following the break of protests in Iran and the communication restrictions imposed upon citizens there, fring's been seeing a steep rise in traffic coming from Iran in the last couple of days, with thousands of local Iranians using fring to talk (using mobile VoIP), chat, send pictures to friends & family (within Iran and abroad).
With media censorship, phones, mobile phones, SMS, internet sites (Facebook, Twitter, Youtube), satellite broadcast...

Poll: Few Iranians see US favorably, despite Obama
(08 Jun 2009)
WASHINGTON—Few Iranians have favorable opinions of the United States, a view that has changed little since the election of an American president who has expressed a willingness to talk to Tehran, a rare poll of Iranian citizens showed Monday. Even so, the survey shows Iranians continue to strongly want their country to adopt democratic institutions like free elections and a free press...

I stand with the Iranians...
(17 Jun 2009)
These men and women protesting the election results in Iran are risking their lives to show that they will not accept the corruption any longer, I am proud to stand with them in spirit, because I cannot be there with them physically.
Rarely do we see such things in life. Let me reiterate, these men and women are literally putting their lives on the line to express themselves, and it appears to having an effect. I have heard on Rachel Maddow's show that some powerful clerics have now sided with t...

Violence escalating in Tehran. - Rants & Opinions - General Discussion
(19 Jun 2009)
Thanks to the great control over the media exercized by the Iranian authority, details as to the ongoing protests have been sketchy, though pictures and video footage has leaked to western reporters and websites alike, giving the world a glimpse as to what was taking place in Tehran, the capital of Iran, in response to the last election.
As most of you know by now, there is great criticism of the electoral process, and as such, the results of the latest election which, officially, have allowed A...

What do you think about this writer and his writing ?
I need opinion from Muslims and Americans ,, well anyone can give their opinion but should be the honest one.
Neither Bin Laden Nor Ahmadinejad
Abdul Rahman Al-Rashed
A number of people rushed to utilise excerpts of my previous article entitled Electing Obama is Not Enough in an attempt to give the impression that I am instigating the new U.S. administration against Muslims.
The reason is because I mentioned the acts carried out by Presiden...

Iranian Elections- CHANGE you can believe in!
(12 Jun 2009)
Iranians are going to the polls today to vote for a new president.
Strangly enough the smae thing that happened in the US 2008 elections seem to be happening there. Young voters who ahve tradionally boycotted elections are turniong out in droves. They are text messaging their opinions enccouraging friends to speak up.
Politicians are campaigning with wives. Viral messaging and TV debates are big .
(I will ignore the fact that IRAN has had numeorus TC debates between the candidates and the BAHAMA...

Opinions on Iran's Current happenings
(26 Jun 2009)
Just wanted to ask everyones opinion on how YOU feel the current events in Iran might affect near future in the Middle East?
For e.g.
Many Iranians seem to be rejecting the recent election results and now even the current Governing Mullah's. I think its fair to say the Mullah's could care less what its people think. Never the less, I am curious as to possible affects this could have on our understanding and expectation of future events.
So...you have a scenario? A conspiracy? An Opinion regardin...

Iranian Protests
(22 Jun 2009)
The whole thing is crazy! now they are saying that it was the US that was involved? What the eff david blaine?
I think it's ridiculous that people in the US are criticizing Obama for not getting involved. If we get involved the whole them saying we're jerks who are sneaky would hold more merit! We're not the police of the world here.
I was looking on youtube though and they have a section devoted to all the Iran vids. There are people protesting all over the world! Why are they targeting us thou...

Is Facebook To Irans Moderate Revolution What The Mosque Was To Irans Islamic...
(18 Jun 2009)
I was trawling through the blogosphere and came across two differing angles on the Iranian election.
The first from Thomas Friedman suggests social media is being used as a platform for secularists, a legitimate
application of civil society for democratic change and another from a blogger suggesting that the
application of twitter by non-bonafide Iranians could be behind the activism.

An Iranian's perspective on the Iran elections

I thought this was interesting:

I have posted here since 2006, which coincidentally happens to be the year I last visited extended family in Iran. My parents came from Iran to America in 1978 just before the Islamic Revolution, and I was born in San Francisco in 1979, having lived in the US ever since; I therefore have dual citizenship, being both an American citizen and an Iranian citizen. H...
