thinking about flashing my 360 (benq)

orginally i had my 360 sent away to be flashed - i didn't really count on having to update it again
i'm considering flashing it myself to 1.6 (otherwise the postage cost to and back is going to start to really add up) is it possible to flash it without the orginal firmware?

stratch that, the firmware was emailed to me
can anyone give me a quick guide as to what i need to flash the Benq drive using a Vista computer? (i've got a PCI via sata controller on order) -

Opinions on flashing lights?

Seems most agree that a flashing taillight is the best way to go rather than a solid red light (keeping location of the light out of the argument).
How about headlights? Flashing, or non flashing? I'd been keeping mine on flash mode because most roads I travel at night have street lights, and changed it to solid when there was a long section without lights. However my brother pointed out last night the flashing might be rather distracting to oncoming drivers, and I think I'm starting to agree.

how many of you use a flash / flash extender with photographing birds ?
This is one thing I have not really thought of, but knowing how limited I am with my 100/400 light wise.... i am thinking about trying one out.
I have a 430 ex II.
Any feedback about using them would be great.

What do you think about this for an XBMC networked client?

1. Take this Samba P4 2.4 Ghz PC with no hard drive or operating system, 256 meg ram, CD drive, comes with DVI / VGA
2. 4 gig USB flash drive with XBMC Live loaded on it, configuration changes for XBMC can be saved to the flash drive
3. DVI to HDMI cable
4. Hook it up to network
5. Stream video to it from my Media server over hard wired network
Pros:
Affordable
Dont need hard drive as it streams content from server
Alternative to modding xbox
Possibly handle 720p
Cons:
Noise?
Power requirements?...

Thinking about a BG-E2N grip

I have had my 30D for quite some time, never used a battery grip, never really even thought seriously about them. However, I am starting to think about getting one, mainly for comfort but I do shoot in portrait mode some times and often fiddle with things trying to fire the shutter.
Yeah, I guess a grip would help on that front.
What about balance? A while back I was talking about getting a used 1DmkII or a 1Ds because with the built in grip, I figured having a heavier lens hanging of the end of...

Ok, so heres the thing i have been reading about linux and want to start using it im pretty sure i want to get Ubuntu was wandering a couple of things here they are
- Can i put it on a flash drive so i can just move to computer to computer?
- What version should i get? thinking of 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope) release. i dont know if its newest
- is winamp compatible or any of my hardware? and is a Logitech Mx revolution compatible?
- can i play games on it if not its ok thats what i have Vista for.

OVI store will not support Python applications. What do you think about ?...

As you probably already know, OVI store will support only Java, C++ and Flash. I can not understand *why* Python was not considered as an eligible language for OVI Store. Consulting Bill Perry and talking to Gerry Moth, I saw the following answer:

OK "somebody" has to post about this "somewhere", oddly, I see nothing about it "anywhere".
nn boards dot com, the former home of Tiffany Teen , Blueeyez, Megan, et al., was closed for a couple of weeks (with a message stating, we are updating for a few hours, go watch some TV) and finally came back online with a new owner, a guy who owns some sites including get naughty dot com.
