2. Pulled pork (BBQ) without a smoker   (26 Jun 2009)
Let’s watch the peanut gallery double entendre this… I do love me some BBQed pulled pork. Hard thing making it in a London apartment though, so thinking about an oven / Dutch oven recipe. Any recommendations from the SF crew or do I need to go for the overanalysis of chowhound / egullet? BBQ sauce recipes (Carolina or othewise) also appreciated. K

3. Pork Mania in May! In honor of the swine flu :)   (01 May 2009)
I keep reading posts that say the price of pork has dropped way down because people assume they can get the flu from eating pork and are now boycotting it. Well, you cannot get the flu from pork but you can take advantage of the bargains. So what pork dishes are you making these days? I'm going to make HiDelight's recipe for boneless pork rib and fennel stew, which I keep thinking about since I saw the recipe when she put it up. I just love fennel. http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=391...

4. Once the pork butt is done...   (01 Jun 2009)
I was thinking about this last night as I was pulling the two pork shoulders I smoked for 11 hours. so how much do you "sample" while shredding?

5. Eat pork, and be a Muslim   (06 May 2009)
So I was had some serious discussions about faith and religion with my suicide bombing pals back at home, and we eventually got really deep into philosophy of faith etc despite the lack of hashash. Eventually we arrived at pig culling in Egypt and started talking about why pork is supposedly evil. One of the very learned brothers (from Kurdish Turkey) said something really interesting: Quote: : If eating pork is the only reason that prevents you from being Muslim, then eat pork, and be a Muslim...

6. feeding pork or beef to tarantula?   (24 May 2009)
Some people around me feed their Ts raw pork or beef. They tie them with a string and then shake them front of the T to draw attention. And there has been a debate about this whether it is good and nutritious enough for T or not. What do you guys think about it?

7. I need advice on grilling a pork loin Community   (18 May 2009)
I have a 4-5 pound pork loin I want to grill. I usually grill a loin using my old Weber grill and use indirect heat. I now have a new gas grill (with 4 burners). Can I grill 'indirectly' using the new gas grill like I do with the Weber? Would I use the 1 and 4 burners and lay the meat over the unlit 2 and 3 burners? How about using burners 1 and 3 and laying the meat over burner 2. My gas grill is bigger than my old Weber. We have workers helping us cut up trees today and I don't want to mess up...

8. Forest Pork Store   (30 Jun 2009)
I'm thinking about making a pitstop in Huntington Station on the way out east on Friday (I'm not a masochist thank you) seems as though Forest Pork Store despite having its factory in Ridgewood only has retail store out in Suffolk. Its not far off the LIE so it isn't a big deal - but does anyone have any thoughts on them? Looking for bratwurst specifically. Secondarily I have in my mind a butcher out in Queens somewhere that was doing lots of French charcuterie but I now cannot find any referenc...

9. What to do with ground pork?   (16 Jun 2009)
The ground chicken thread got me thinking about the pound of ground pork in my freezer I bought on a whim a couple of weeks ago. I was thinking pork burgers, but now I'm wondering if there's something better that I'm just not thinking of. Pork burger recipes would also be appreciated. I also have ground bear and ground deer in the freezer that my boyfriend's family gave us. I have no idea what to do with those.

10. So what does Pork think about Sonia?   (26 May 2009)
On Tue, 26 May 2009 15:39:51 -0500, Maak <Maakremove@gmx.co.uk Just wondering..seems President Bush the first appointed her to where she is. On the surface the Repubs should like her..but then they will like nobody who Obama the Terrible appoints. Big nasty un-needed battle ahead..but she will win out. -- Jon B Barry Artkeep, Inc.
