I find bicycle saddles generally uncomfortable (I also ride a recumbent to give an idea of what i mean by comfortable ). They're not horrible or anything, once I get used to my seat after the winter it's not so bad unless I stop biking for a week or so.
On that note, a week or so ago, I didn't bike for about a week, and my butt got a bit sore earlier this week. I've been thinking about bicycle saddles & shorts for the past couple of days (and possibly changing my setup). What I can't really figu...

Brooks saddle rub damaging shorts

Hello,
I recently bought a really nice pair of Giordana cycling shorts for my wife and she also finally found a saddle that works for her, a Brooks B17. Unfortunately, after 2 or 3 approximately 15 mile rides, we've noticed that her inner thigh rubs against the bottom of the "flaps" on the side of the saddle and is causing her shorts to get worn down much faster than seems normal. I got her a B17 special from wallingford bikes, the one with the chamfered edges.

I have a question for all you fashion gurus out there: what do you think about heeled sandals and shorts? I'm not talking about dressy sandals or shorts. Not even a city short. Women's bib shorts - Tried 'em?

Somebody mentioned that they heard bib shorts were a bit more flattering. Since I'm 5'4" and about 140 lbs, seems like I always get the unflattering bulge above the elastic of regular bike shorts when leaning forward over the handlebars. Thinking about trying bib shorts, but was worried they might be uncomfortable or hot on the upper body.
Have any of you ladies tried them? If so, what brand(s) & model(s) do you prefer, and do they run true to size?

I have a couple pair of bike shorts, but neither of which has turned out to be a good solution. One is a pair of Trek club shorts, which fit good except for muffin top syndrome. My customary yellow T-shirt is so baggy now that it snags on everything (it was pretty oversized even when I was 380#). But I'm still way too big to even think about wearing a jersey, and I prefer loose clothing anyway.
