1. Still a $1.00 stock - LVLT has a credibility gap   (21 May 2009)
Still a $1.00 stock - LVLT has a credibility gap Nice pop in response to Sunit's presentation. Here is the problem - Other than Sunit - LVLT management has little credibility. LVLT will have to "show" the street the numbers before the share price is going to be able to leave the $1.00 range - in my opinion. That said, it is refreshing to hear some good news from Sunit. I believe the shares would be worth $2.00 or more today if there was not a history of "stubbed toes" and other goofiness from th...

2. my sentiment indicators   (10 May 2009)
my sentiment indicators my proprietary contrary sentiment indicators (casual survey of a variety of investment industry people) have turned red this week ... at least in the short term.  Whenever a clear "chorus" emerges, it usually means be prepared for a change in direction.   One thing I've learned about successful contrarian investing is that the market is incredibly deceptive to most people.  Academics think that because the vast majority of people don't make excess returns the market must...

3. wyoming   (28 Jun 2009)
wyoming >"There is, of course, considerable evidence that private insurance companies are generally more inefficient than public insurance plans. For instance, only 3% of every Medicare dollar goes to administrative costs, while from 13% to 17% -- and sometimes more -- goes to administering and marketing private plans."< I've been thinking about this, but I don't have the data to explore it.   Let me set up a hypothetical situation.   Let's say a company has fixed costs (for admin) of 1 mi...

4. Fairly Valued @ 10   (23 Apr 2009)
Fully Valued @ 1.00 The market has pegged LVLT at full value ($1.00) going into Q1 earnings release. The downside risk is, in my opinion, $ 0.92 post conference call - assuming no downside surprises and no excuses from Crowe's crack management team. A bit of positive news with no BS attached to it could drive the price upwards. However, I believe this would have to be something not yet built into expectations.
