Borders Inc. was founded 40 miles away, but the only one of the chain's bookstores here closed this month. And Starbucks Corp., famous for saturating U.S. cities with its storefronts, has only four left in this city of 900,000 after closures last summer.

Is the Detroit River clean???

Hi Guys,
I got into a debate this past weekend with a friend who said he wouldn't eat anything out of the Detroit River because of how polluted the water was. I didn't think it was that polluted and I eat walleye out of there every year but I didn't have any facts to back up my opinion. I wanted to know if anyone could direct me to a good website where I could read up on the current status of the Detroit River and connecting bodies of water. Also, I'd like to hear your opinions on what you think...

Living in the Detroit area I've long had an interest in doing a build up of 'Detroit Miss' but have held off due to conflicting interpretations of the markings of this aircraft. I had the opportunity to talk with Ben Drew in the late '90's and he informed me that he was not aware of any colour photos of this bird and that the often published 3/4 front port view of this aircraft was taken by him with his Brownie camera. This photo does NOT show any part of the tail assembly.

Putting a Detroit in a TJ Rubicon rear D44 housing with 4.88 gears

I finally blew up the stock locker in my Rubicon rear Dana 44 and I'm thinking about replacing it with a Detroit. I'm currently running Alloy USA 4.88 gears on the stock locker, will these gears work on a Detroit or do I need a new R&P since these are the "thick" gears?

I'm interested in understanding a bit more about the dynamic between black and white in Detroit. I know quite a bit of the history of race relations in the area, and I am not looking to start a blame game. What I am more interested in is interpreting a particular social situation in Detroit as an outsider.

Dump Truck with 8.2 Detroit

Does anyone have any experience with the 8.2 Ltr Detroit in a big truck?
I was thinking about buying an older dump truck to haul dirt and gravel with. Don't know anything about this engine. It looks huge and has a big turbo, but have heard it was a pig. Anybody with any experience with these. It has a big Allison behind it.
