Something to think about
(27 May 2009)
Hello,
Recently me any my friend, have moved to ubuntu, and are constantly discussing the benefits over windows. (yes, we're obsessed )
But i had a though the other day when a windows advert came on.
The tagline was
"Im seven years old and im a pc"
That made me think, your a PC? Personal Computer?
This advert, in my opinion, is claiming that EVERY Personal Computer, runs windows.
Now i think that's completely outrageous that microsoft should be allowed to claim that all Pc's are windows, because...

Thinking about buy a sport classic.. fogged oil window?
(03 Jun 2009)
Hey guys, I actually live down in the bay area now of San Fran, but i'd liek to get multiple opinions...
I'm looking at buying a ducati sport classic, and would like to get your opinion on two things.
The first is, I'm looking at buying a Ducati sport Classic. (2007) The original owner dropped the bike at 50 miles, (not that slow at all) his body taking the brunt of the low side. I believe him after seeing the large scar and he has receipts proving the left side of the bike specifically was repl...

What Do Some Japanese Gamers Think About Online Gaming/Distribution?
(14 Apr 2009)
Japanese magazine Famitsu has polled a pool of 798 about their thoughts on what's going on with the game industry. The most interesting data was with online gaming.
While 90 percent of those polled have used some sort of home console or portable console, only 24 percent of those have actually paid to use said service meaning, we assume, they're not using paid services like Xbox LIVE. What's more, 58.5 percent use those networks for wireless ad hoc play (think Monster Hunter on the PSP).
A larg...

Something to think about...
(25 Apr 2009)
Now, not tomorrow or next week, we shall discuss the forbidden topic on message boards, religion. This issue is quite touchy for many people, so Id like to ask anyone in the topic to be open to criticism and other ideas different from your own.
Is religion necessary? A lot of people choose to follow one religion or another, and as we all know the differences of religion can lead to conflict. Story after story exists of one man harming another because he fears what he does not know. All wars can...

Anyone looking to sell a Large M3 or a Large M6 in the near future? Any M...
(29 May 2009)
Per Intense's recommendation I got a Medium M3 frame, which at 6'1 was not the wisest choice. Pretty sure I'll have it sold this week and I'd like to get a Large M3. The couple frames I've checked out have been mis-aligned, so I would prefer something I could check out first with a wheel in the dropouts. There aren't many Large M3's for sale so I'm thinking about biting the bullet and getting a Large M6.
Do the M6's have the same alignment issues or have they gotten that sorted out?? Also with t...

Thinking about the American Revolution: James Madison

Thinking about the American Revolution: James Madison
To cherish peace and friendly intercourse with all nations having correspondent dispositions; to maintain sincere neutrality toward belligerent nations; to prefer in all cases amicable discussion and reasonable accommodation of differences to a decision of them by an appeal to arms; to exclude foreign intrigues and foreign partialities, so degrading to all countries and so baneful to free ones; to foster a spirit of independence too just to...

Tell the truth guys, what do you all think about big girls?
(28 May 2009)
Ok, here's the deal I am a very large woman. Don't get me wrong I don't enjoy it but I have to live with it for the moment. I think big girls need loving just like the rest and we can be just as fun. Just because we're fat doesn't mean we're diseased or something. I understand it can be hard to look at sometimes, hell we have to look at it. I just finally realized though that Im gonna enjoy life and forget all the jerks out there. I just want to find a good guy who will like me the way I am and...

How to treat large Manufacturing Equipment providers - Opinions and comments...
(04 Jul 2009)
I'm just wondering if I can get some opinions and comments on how to treat large manufacturing equipment (ie production lines, CAPEX-funded) with regards to Supplier Management.
Our supplier management processes are really designed around controlling component and material suppliers - auditing, assessing, ongoing management. So what to do about our large equipment suppliers?
My take is that if we buy production equipment, the qualification of such equipment takes the form of FAT, SAT and process...

Ever done a total rewrite of a large C++ application in C#?
(10 Jun 2009)
I know Joel says to never do it , and I agree with this in most cases. I do think there are cases where it is justified.
We have a large C++ application (around 250,000 total lines of code) that uses a MFC front end and a Windows service as the core components. We are thinking about moving the project to C#.
The reasons we are thinking about rewriting are:
Faster development time Use of WCF and other .NET built-in features More consistent operation on various systems Easier 64 bit support Many n...
