1. NSBR Board - "Thinking about replacing air conditioning unit...is it worth...   (13 Jun 2009)
We live in a 3200 square foot 2 level home. We have 3 units. For the past several years, we've used a window unit to help cool down the larger bedroom while allowing the AC unit to cool the other 2 bedrooms. I'm so tired of the noise of the window unit and the inconvenience of getting DH to install and remove it each season. Plus it can't be that energy effecient. The AC unit is still functioning fine(it is about 9 years old) so I'm having a really hard time deciding to spend so much money. Toda...

2. Been Thinking about a 410 Semi-Auto   (16 May 2009)
First, I got the AR-15 .223, and then folks said that's a weak round. So I got the AK-47 variant, and folks said "not enough kinetic energy"... OK, I am now thinking about a semi-auto 410 slug gun. There are a few models available, including this auction on GB - http://v4.beta.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=128980382 What do you experts think about an AR-15-styled 410 shotgun throwing slugs at the bad guys? I'm thinking it would make a pretty darn effective weapon out to 150 - 200 yard...

4. Life is Energy   (06 Jun 2009)
Energy is neither created nor destroyed. We're all made of energy. When we die, our consciousness dies, but our energy goes on. That energy may go on to inhabit a rock, sand, water, or anything you can think of. Then it may go on to inhabit other living organisms. It may take billions, trillions, or zillions of years before your energy makes its way back into living matter, but no matter how much time elapses inbetween, of course there's no time dilation once it enters into a new consciousness (...

5. FRS Healthy Energy energy drink: a case study of quercetin!   (03 Jun 2009)
the problem with most energy drinks is that it gives you a crash due to its high sugar content. a lot of people don't know this, but the ingredients on the ingredients lists on any food item (at least in the U.S.) are always listed in order by amount. for example, most cereal isn't all that healthy for you because sugar is usually the second most prevalent ingredient. that's pretty wild when you think about it because you're eating mostly flour and sugar. sugar is also at the top of the ingredie...

My girlfriend came home tonight and mentioned someone brought up alternate energy providers. I guess this half wit is working for them selling service. By half wit, I mean dis bish is mildly retarded. Seriously. This is the company she's pimping and I has sorta only half listening to the sales schpeal. What I heard was Quote: : BlahBlahBlahBlahBlahPonziBlahBlahBlahBlahScamBlahB lahBlahBlahGreasyBastardBlahBlahBlah So, I started hunting for an article I'd read about local energy providers droppin...

10. Stop the energy tax challenge   (09 Jun 2009)
I just got this via email. I will look into it a bit more. Anyone care to dispute the information? Hope you haven't cracked open your penny jar yet. Gas prices are climbing - with a 20 percent jump in the past month alone. Unbelievably, the Left is pushing a bill that would drive energy prices higher. They call it cap and trade, but it's just a new energy tax. They think tackling climate change requires regulating the energy use of every individual and business in America, and that if energy cos...
