What do you guys think about horror movies?

Yes, I mean horror movies. Not scary movie 1 - 4 which made fun of scary parts in other horror movies. Ramen says it's funny to see a girl get mowed down by the grudge. I think he's nuts. Who else thinks he's nuts? Anyway, moving onto the topic, what do you guys think about horror movies? Have you ever "crapp3d" your pants while watching? What horror movies did you watch? If you apparently "crapp3ed" your pants, tell us which part :], so we may crap our pants too.

Recently there has been a wave of FPS, Survival horror, and more importanly serious games with copius amounts of violence and blood coming out for the wii. With the Resident evil franchise, madworld, and House of the Dead: Overkill leading the way, and games like The Conduit and Dead Space Extraction coming out, it looks like the wii is finally getting serious and is trying to appeal to a more hardcore and older audience. "Americanized Horror" And the Senseless Praising of J-Horror.
As a preface, I'd like to apologize if this doesn't belong in this section. It seemed the most appropriate though. Also when I say "Horror" I'm referring specifically to the video game genre, excluding books and movies.
So, I just watched Yahtzee's newest review of the PS3's Siren game and was reminded of his hatred for "Americanized horror" and his lurve of its Japanese counterpart.
Now I've noticed a trend in the hating of America...

Rocky Horror Picture Show

One of the many community groups I'm part of is considering showing some movies at the old local movie house (a community landmark) and one of the ideas we're thinking about would involve showing the Rocky Horror Picture Show as the midnight showing. This was pretty common and popular way back when I was in college, and it's been years since I've done that or even heard about it. Is that still popular? I personally.. really really loathe horror films. They aren't very well written.. and they are boring to watch.. but that's just my opinion.

I'm curious what you all think about horror movies in general. I haven't seen one yet, because I like movies that have a point, and something to think about. I don't know, maybe horror movies do, but many people seem to see them just to get scared.
I was wondering what you thought about the movie House. I suppose it was made from a book by Frank Peretti. I think that a Christian horror/gore movie would actually be a good idea, if it was done right (I'm thinking about Frost Like Ashes' Born To Pi...

I just saw Obsessed and I couldn't stop laughing! Classic lines like "Did you touch my child b itch?" " Ohhh teach me Derek!" and "We can talk about this!
