1. *** What do you guys think about these wheels ***   (22 May 2009)
Hey guys I know Im a newbie on here but I have a 2004 GTi and I wanted to get some wheels with a step lip and found these wheels. I have a couple buddies on here already and they told me to post it here and see what you guys think. There Kranson Forged and the model is the Design Klassic. Another thing for me that is great is that there pretty light wheels weighing in at about 18.5 pounds for an 18". I wanted to get your guys opinions as I am in love with them. Let me know what you guys think. P...

2. Another newbie thinking about straights   (19 Jun 2009)
I have a few issues that I don't want to disclose that would most likely prevent me from being able to hone a straight razor. These same issues may prevent me from stropping as well, and might even prevent me from even shaving with it, so right now I'm just trying to get as much information as I can. Is it possible to have a straight honed by a honemaster on a regular basis and how often would that be? I do understand that it depends on a lot of factors but I'm just trying to get a rough idea. I...

3. NASA vs. SCCA, Looking for Opinions for a Newbie   (29 Jun 2009)
I'm new to amateur road racing, and I'm trying to get some opinions as to the differences and/or pro and cons of NASA and SCCA. I've done two NASA hyperdrives, which gave me a taste for the sport, and I really enjoy it, but I would like to hear from some folks as to what they think of both of these fine organizations. TIA

4. Thinking about migrating to Ubuntu, a few questions   (25 Apr 2009)
I've played with Ubuntu and other UNIX variants on a number of occasions over the years, so I'm not a complete newbie, but I have a few questions as I am considering altering the setup of my primary PC to have Ubuntu as my primary OS. 1) Should a 19 or 20GB partition be enough for Ubuntu? I have a separate partition that I will keep my data on, FAT32 most likely (unless Ubuntu can reliably write to NTFS now) as I will still have Win2k as a backup and games OS. I have three partitions on my 400GB...

5. [all variants] Thinking about a new computer...   (12 Jun 2009)
So I'm going to get something this summer, as I need something for school. The old IBM I had been using just wiped it's hard drive... again... and though I can still boot off the live cd, or reinstall to go get it wiped in few hours, it's not a whole lot of good to me, but I can finish off the year with it, and maybe someone who has nothing at all can make use of it, maybe one of my friends who hasn't yet been graced with even a secondhand computer as of yet. Next year I'm gonna be a sophmore in...

6. Thinking about buying Max HD   (22 Jun 2009)
Hi, I am an absolute newbie to satellites. Right now I'm using the viewsat extreme, and I'm thinking about upgrading to an HD receiver. First of all, how does the Max HD get HD programing? Do you have to buy an attachment? Do I need to buy a special dish? How many HD channels do you get? I'm just trying to see if its worth the money to upgrade or not. Any help/suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Habib

8. Newbie: Need opinions on depth finder   (08 Jun 2009)
I am new to iboats so hello everyone. I would like to have everyone's opinion. I am having problems with my factory installed depth finder. I understand that a lot of people have had trouble with them in Cobalts. Should I try and go through the trouble of having it repaired or should I have an aftermarket depth/fishfinder or even a low end gps installed? Thanks in advance for you opinions.

9. Newbie greetings and opinions sought   (29 May 2009)
I am a forum newbie on the brink of a Sport Classic purchase and, after a considerable period of "lurking", I decided to register, introduce myself, and ask a question. As for the introduction: I am a 58 year-old ex-pat Brit living in Colorado (moniker is pun on county name). I got my original m/c license in England back in 1967, and well-remember the cafe racers of that era (mostly Nortons, BSAs, Triumphs, Royal Enfields, Velocettes, etc and various combinations of same). I currently own a 1983...

10. Thinking about buying my first 4 stroke   (05 May 2009)
My oldest is ready to move up and looking into getting a CRF250r. Both boys have been riding 2 stroke (KX100 and YZ85). Are there any tips ya'll can give to a newbie on 4 strokes . I heard the maintenance is more expensive than a two stroke.
