French striker Marc-Antoine Fortune set to be Tony Mowbray's first signing as new Celtic boss
Jun 8 2009 By Craig Swan
TONY MOWBRAY is lining up s1million French hotshot Marc-Antoine Fortune to join him once he's boss of Celtic.
Parkhead chiefs are in the process of securing Mowbray's release from West Brom and he is already thinking about new signings who could help the club through two qualifying rounds to reach the Champions League proper.
West Brom chairman Jeremy Peace will drive a hard bar...

King Francis the Great
(20 May 2009)
Currently, I am working on a TL in which King Francois I of France defeats Imperial forces in the 1521-1525 Italian War. My POD is simple:
Instead of Francois delaying his attack on Imperial forces at Valenciennes in October, 1521, and allowing Charles to retreat, the king instead attacks with full force and manages to score a crippling victory.
This sets off a chain reaction, whereby Charles is forced to send for reinforcements from his Italian campaign, buying the French time to pay the Swiss...

French Prisoners Get Their Own Tour De France

French prisoners get their own Tour de France
Now, I thought prison was a place to go if you've done something wrong. I'm not deluded in thinking drugs don't happen at prison, and prison life can be made easier with lovely televisions in certain cells etc...but when the hell do you let prisoners loose on the streets of France, or any country, to go for a nice leisurely bike ride?!
Quote: Close to 200 prisoners will take to the open roads as they cycle around France next month in the first penal...

Final Two Weeks Preview!
(17 May 2009)
Quote: Now see, this is something Lyon would do in the past: to play in one of their main opponents stadium and winning the game, with a solid display.
Unfortunately for them, it's too late now to reach the title.
And unfortunately for me, I keep failing my predictions in France, considering that it seems it will be Bordeaux to win the title. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/closedeyes.gif )
They were very good on the counter-attack tonight, that's what won them the points. Ball retention was a pro...

Mooch Nahi Tho Kuch Nahi
(17 Apr 2009)
Now there's been many theories bandied about as to the real reasons behind the decline and fall from grace of the Pakistani cricket team. Some say that youngsters in Pakistan are just no longer interested in cricket, others feebly point to the poor domestic structure and some have the cheek to say that it's down to a lack of professionalism.
I, on the other hand would like to present a somewhat more controversial theory.
I believe that there is a direct and identifiable correlation between the p...

Just linkin'
(26 Jun 2009)
Lill' forum tip: when you find an interesting article, blog entry or whatever on the web that you would like to point out, discuss, or you think other would like, you're of course very welcome to post them. However, there are a few rules:
1) first, (and this applies to everything, not just articles) DO A FORUM SEARCH to check there isn't already something on that topic. If there is, go to step three, if not, go to step two.
2) there isn't something existing, you have to create a thread. The thre...

Croatian Clubs in Europe 2009-2010
(22 Jun 2009)
Champions League: Dinamo Zagreb
Europa League: Hajduk Split, NK Rijeka, Slaven Belupo
As many of us know, starting this season there have been many changes in the European club format. Dinamo Zagreb now have a more manageable route to the Champions League group stage, where they will only play league champions from the leagues ranked 14th and lower. It still will not be easy, but Dinamo, if they build a strong squad, have the best chance to finally make it to the "big time". Another positive for...

Poll: Muslim dressed in 'burka' denied French citizenship
(21 Apr 2009)
What's your opinion on this - is this right or wrong?
Quote: : A Muslim member of the French Government has attacked the head-to-toe Islamic dress as a prison, applauding a court decision to deny citizenship to a Moroccan woman who wore it.
The burka is a prison, a strait-jacket, Fadela Amara, the Minister for Urban Affairs and a longstanding women's rights campaigner, said yesterday. It is not religious. It is the insignia of a totalitarian political project for sexual inequality.
The court...

A Guide to Killing Moss Giants at Pirate's Cove
(26 May 2009)
This is my first guide (heck, this is the first time I've been on a forum, period) so bear with me.
Update: This guide now uses what I've heard referred to as a 'Quickfind' system. As you can see, in the header of every section and the table of contents below, there is a number in square brackets. The number associated with each section is only displayed at the header of that section and the table of contents. To use the quickfind system:
1. Highlight the bracketed number in the table of content...
