1. Running several Android emulators with different phone numbers   (14 Apr 2009)
Hello, first time poster here. I'm working on a client-server Android application and trying to figure out how to identify different phones/users to the server unambiguously. My first attempt would be to use the phone number on the SIM card. Although now that I think about it, how common is it these days that your phone number changes when you e.g. change carrier? I guess it depends from country to country etc. Anyway, I've been trying to figure out, since I don't have actual Android phones, how...

2. Lets talk Google - Chrome, Android, Gmail and stuff   (01 Jul 2009)
I tried Chrome on its first release and whilst its minimal approach and the tabs as process thing were nice I found it to be really buggy. It wouldn't connect for no reason, slowed, crashed. I use gmail and the google calendar synced to my Blackberry and I've been looking at the new Google/Android mobile phones. I might go for the Hero when it arrives if this Sense GUI is any good. It sounds good: http://www.htc.com/uk/product/hero/product-tour.html The other thing is if the phone and the Androi...

3. Android w/Neo Freerunner?   (27 May 2009)
Has anyone had the opportunity to play with the Neo Freerunner running android? They are a bit cheaper nowadays and I've been thinking about picking one up to play with. Does android play nice with this device?

4. Who's going Android?   (25 May 2009)

6. Android: how do you synchronize Outlook without using Gmail?   (15 Jun 2009)
Ever since someone on the forum mentioned it, I've been seriously thinking about buying a Samsung i7500. It's got pretty much everything that I want - a 3.5mm headphone jack, it takes SD cards, it's running Android which I generally like, it's small, it's thin, it looks pretty nice, it has a decent camera and can take videos, GPS, WiFi and an OLED screen and it runs on T-Mobile USA's 3G network. I'm in Poland now where they've been advertising it, and then I'll be in Germany in two weeks and Aus...

7. Any of you faggots using android phones?   (18 May 2009)
I got a rooted g1 with the jf1.5adp firmware and just flashed the spl. Thinking about doing apps to sd but the new spl takes up way less space so I don't really need the space anymore.

8. Basic questions regarding Android ROMS.   (22 Apr 2009)
sorry if these have been asked many times before, i've searched but cannot find much about it. new to Android, coming from a WM for the past 8 years background its all foreign to me. 1) what is "adb" and how does it differ from "RC"'s? I presume RC's are just different build numbers for Android. 2) whats the difference between Haykuro, JF's builds? are any of them cupcake? how can i think about them in terms of Windows Mobile roms? 3) if I install one of the above, will the over the air updates...

9. Advantage of installing NITdroid/Android   (05 May 2009)
Advantage of installing NITdroid/Android   Hi folks. I was wondering if there is an actual advantage of installing Android as opposed to keeping Maemo. Is there a reason why I might want to risk losing my current OS, other than for the sake of the new OS itself (which is a valid reason, just not compelling enough for me)? Is there any genuine advantage in terms of usage, like, say, being able to use Gears for gcal or some such? Or did I just miss the point here, and it is indeed possible to have...

10. From Hermes WM6.5 to Dream / Android and Back to Windows Mobile   (29 Jun 2009)
So like many guys still running the Hermes and knowing its getting long in the tooth, might be thinking about jumping ship to the new Dream/Android. I looked at it real close and it had everything that my Hermes didn't, it had a built in GPS, Accelerometer, and it had all the stuff I needed that made me keep my Hermes so long. Full keyboard, nice touch screen, MicroSDHC expansion. So I made the plunge about 2 weeks ago and got a Dream. The first day it was fun to play with. I looked past the lac...
