1. Virus Strikes   (24 May 2009)
I was just thinking about this, the life eater virus is nasty. In one HH book someone comments that there is enough on the Eisenstein (a mere frigate) to wipe out a city. Think it's here but somewhere in the series it says this kind of thing. So can a Virus strike be localised to one area of a planet. I'd imagine, with the right circumstances, it could. For example hitting an isolated city. The virus should burn itself out when it runs out of hosts in the city. Just a thought totally at random....

2. CBC Strikes Again!   (13 Apr 2009)
So I went to NHL.com to take a look at the latest new, rumors and "expert opinions" from their various writers and blogs... and figured while I was there I should take a look at the playoff schedule to find out if I'll be working any of the nights we have a playoff game. Imagine my surprise to discover that CBC has decided to give Calgary the shaft and not broadcast a single playoff game from this CANADIAN team. In their ultimate wisdom, they decided to show the President Trophy winning San Jose...

6. lightning strikes   (03 Jul 2009)
Hello, We've had two thunderstorms inn the last three days. I realise I am not sure what are sensible precautions to take and what are old wives' tales: unplug the tv and don't use the phone seem plausible but keep away from radiators, windows, and don't have a bath? Are they good ideas or just mad? Our tv equipment is plugged into one of those Belkin surge protector extension leads, as is the computer but they look untidy on the floor. I was thinking about getting more sockets put on the ring m...

7. The Obama Deception: The Truth Strikes Back   (22 May 2009)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAaQN...D92CAD&index=0 I mean wow This might be the worst thing on the Internet, but I'm just curious, what do our resident conspiracy, Youtube video nuts think about this? Credible?

8. Crazy Dutch PC'ness strikes again! Schools this time.   (02 Jul 2009)
Quote: : To fight the segregation of Dutch and immigrant children across schools in Amsterdam a central registration desk needs to be installed. All children will be registered there to look at what school they go to and will be moved to another school if necessary. These recommendations were presented on Thursday in a report of the Amsterdam Advisory body on Diversity and Integration. The aim of this central desk is to fight the existence of ‘white’ and ‘black’ schools in Amsterdam. White schoo...

9. When his immaturity/selfishness strikes, I...   (14 Jun 2009)
Get very overwhelmed. My boyfriend and I have been together for about 14 months. Our relationship has moved very quickly...we moved in together after six weeks (with his mom and sister), and got our own apartment after eight months. On the whole, everything is going well. However, I can say without pause that I certainly put more effort into this relationship than he does. I don't think he realizes this, because I try to support him and act selflessly (perhaps too much) in order to help him succ...

10. Green River Turkey Militia Strikes Again...   (08 May 2009)
Pretty neat little hunt. Finally got some free time, so I drove down to the farm for a day hunt. Got a bit of a late start and by the time I was in the woods, the birds were already on the ground. Wasn’t real worried about not being set-up on a bird first thing since it seems like the toms really start trolling mid-morning at this point in the season. Worked a ridge line hitting a crow call every so often, but didn’t get a gobble. I came down a logging road to an open 6 acre field. The road ente...
