Virus Strikes

I was just thinking about this, the life eater virus is nasty. In one HH book someone comments that there is enough on the Eisenstein (a mere frigate) to wipe out a city. Think it's here but somewhere in the series it says this kind of thing. So can a Virus strike be localised to one area of a planet. I'd imagine, with the right circumstances, it could. For example hitting an isolated city. The virus should burn itself out when it runs out of hosts in the city. Just a thought totally at random....

CBC Strikes Again!

So I went to NHL.com to take a look at the latest new, rumors and "expert opinions" from their various writers and blogs... and figured while I was there I should take a look at the playoff schedule to find out if I'll be working any of the nights we have a playoff game.
Imagine my surprise to discover that CBC has decided to give Calgary the shaft and not broadcast a single playoff game from this CANADIAN team. In their ultimate wisdom, they decided to show the President Trophy winning San Jose...

OK, so i've been seeing this girl for about 3 months. We'll call her Jenny. It was a really nice, happy, normal relationship for a couple of months.. We got to know each other, went out on a few dates, hung out and chatted for hours. We shared the same hobbies and interests (Jenny is really into nintendo ds, comics, computers, games.. speaks japanese, plays instruments, loves books, sci fi movies and geeky stuff in general) and is generally really smart, talented and very cute/pretty, basically...

Hello,
We've had two thunderstorms inn the last three days. I realise I am
not sure what are sensible precautions to take and what are old wives'
tales: unplug the tv and don't use the phone seem plausible but keep
away from radiators, windows, and don't have a bath? Are they good
ideas or just mad?
Our tv equipment is plugged into one of those Belkin surge protector
extension leads, as is the computer but they look untidy on the floor.
