1. Sex myths   (01 Jun 2009)
Sex myths debunked Monday, June 01, 2009 WHEN it comes to sex there are no ends of myths circulating. Where they originate from no one knows, but the myths move from the sublime to the ridiculous. Listed below are some common ones. Myth: It is good to have sex when you are pregnant because it nourishes the baby. Fact: The baby does not come in contact with the semen. It is usually protected by the membranes, which surround it. Sex in pregnancy is fine - it increases bonding of the couple. It usu...

2. Debunking Canadian Health Care Myths   (27 Jun 2009)
Text By Rhonda Hackett As a Canadian living in the United States for the past 17 years, I am frequently asked by Americans and Canadians alike to declare one health care system as the better one. Often I'll avoid answering, regardless of the questioner's nationality. To choose one or the other system usually translates into a heated discussion of each one's merits, pitfalls, and an intense recitation of commonly cited statistical comparisons of the two systems. Because if the only way we compare...

3. What is your favorite Mythbusters "myth"?   (21 Jun 2009)
I'm watching Mythbusters right now and it got me to thinking about past "myths" they have examined. I think my favorite so far has been where they checked out the "myth" of an exploding water heater destroying a house. I know it wasn't really a myth as it has happened locally, but it was just hilarious seeing what happens to an electric water heater when you defeat the safety features and heat it up until it blows up. For those who don't know, it steam pressure builds until the bottom blows out...

An NFL Myth is an oft repeated fact (by analysts or coaches or ill informed fans etc.) that is simply not true. As the smartest group of fans on the net, it is our duty to make sure these are corrected. A couple of t...

6. Reality. Myth or fact?   (12 May 2009)
I woke up and realized that the reality of what I am seeing is purely concieved by a preconstructed image that society has set up for everyone. I question the existence of this carnival called life. Time is another creation as well as language that could be considered on your own, how you see it for yourself. Reality or the truth is based on what you percieve in your own mind. The danger of that is, there is a society that refuses to acknowledge such thoughts and considers them heresy of some ki...

7. Creation myths or "how we created humanity"   (24 May 2009)
I think I have nailed down creation myths, but it is hard to put it down in writing... Any way, I'll begin right in the middle of it all, and I apologize for the grammar, but I first put down this text in Latvian, so it may have some weird sentence structures. Creation myths don't speak of or refer to the creation of the material world. They speak of the act of comprehending and giving substance/meaning to the manifestations of the objective/natural world. But it could only happen simultaneously...

8. On Wings of Myths: Lion-O AUCTION! POPPLES F/S NOW ?!?!   (15 Jun 2009)
You're not only walking into a shop. You're walking into a Mythological Adventure! Welcome to On Wings of Myths 80s Revival! This started up when I, Naree, did a cosplay of Starlight from Rainbow Brite as an auction. Needless to say the auction was a success. But what was more successful was the fact that us older Gaians were reminiscing about some of the best cartoons ever created, the ones from the 1980s. Think about it! There was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Rainbow Brite, He-Man and She-Ra,...

9. Zeitgeist: Christianity is No Different from Other Myths   (04 Jul 2009)
Please note: If you have not watched at least the first 45 minutes of Zeitgeist, please do so before participating in this debate. It explains all the major points I wish to discuss, so I will not be listing them here. To watch it, go to this site. Thanks. What do you think about the origins of Christianity? If you still believe it's legit, how do you explain all the evidence pointing to the fact that it's only one more myth in the pool of many exactly like it? If you have any other forms of evi...
