Military and ex military. I am retired and go to the commissary about once every month or six weeks. I just noticed they have MREs for sale. Now I have never eaten MREs. My last combat meals were in Nam in the late 60s and we got C-Rations from the Korean War era. The LRRPs, the predecessors to MREs, were just coming out. They were hard to get so I got a few bites from some of the SEALS I knew. LRRPs were a heck of a lot better then Cs.
So for those of you who have eaten MREs what are the 3 best...

U.S. Military branches. Me need some info

I've recently been thinking of joining one of the Military branches and I have no idea how they are or how they work. I was thinking about the Air Force, but their website doesn't really explain everything well enough for me. After you complete basic training then what happens? Same with the Marines. What happens after you finish basic training? Do you get positioned to a base that you choose? They show a beautiful map with many different locations so I assume you can choose where you want. I don't have 37 things but I hate feeling negative or feeling like you are always focussing on what is wrong instead of what is positive. I will try to now elaborate on some positive aspects of military dentistry aside from the "travel, insurance, steady income" that most people say. I will customize the positives to certain personalities because that is what I see as the real difference in whether a positive is a positive or a negative.

I've been thinking about joining the military, namely the marines and i was wondering if there are any current or x military men or women on the forum that could give me some advice since i feel like some....or 90% of what the recruiter was telling me was bs.

I know people who's husbands are in the military and I have read a lot about it on the net, but it still seems mysterious. My husband is 35 and still thinks about enlisting, having a college degree I am told he can enter in an advanced way (?), but what I dont ever hear about is his chances of dying.
