1. Starter or Reliever?   (26 Apr 2009)
You've talked about this subject over and over again, but after another poor start by Joba it's time to go over it again. What should the team do with this guy? His velocity has been in the low 90s in all of his starts, including in Spring Training. And his accuracy just isn't there. Personally, I say keep him starting. At least until we see what Hughes can do with the team (assuming he takes Wang's spot on Tuesday and for the next few starts after that). If Phil is lighting things up, and Wang...

2. Your optimal 25-man roster (when/IF everyone is ever healthy)   (29 May 2009)

3. Early 2010 roster   (04 Jun 2009)
Forgive me, I like to think about the future way too early but we have some questions marks for next year: a.) Who is the LF? b.) Who is the DH? Here's what I'm thinking: Sign Bay since I think he'll command less money and years then Holliday and it will hurt the Sox (win-win) Split DHing duty between Miranda and DeRosa along with resting older guys (ARod, Jeter, Posada). Sign DeRosa to be superutility guy C Posada 1B Tex 2B Cano SS Jeter 3B ARod LF Bay CF Jackson RF Swisher DH Miranda Bench DeR...

4. Yankee Stadium Blessing in Disguise?   (22 May 2009)
as i was watching guys like Melky Cabrera and Robinson Cano hit HR's yesterday in the Yankee highlight, it got me to thinking. Yes everyone is complaining about the amount of homeruns being hit in Yankee stadium, but i think this can actually benefit the Yanks. Spending money on Mark Teixeira was nice but was it really necessary? This new left field porch can make average hitters 20-25 HR guys for teh Yanks. They can sign guys like Andy Laroche, Chad Tracy, Hank Blalock, Jim Thome for lesser mon...

5. Sherman (NYP) Vs Harper (NYDN): Point/Counter Point on Wang   (11 Jun 2009)
NY POST CHIEN-MING MUST BE PURGED FROM ROTATION June 11, 2009 By Joel Sherman Let's work on our fake injuries for Chien-Ming Wang. How about sprained right eyebrow? Or contusion of the left pinkie nail? Or how about hyper-extended ERA? Both Joe Girardi and pitching coach Dave Eiland said late last night that there is nothing physically wrong with Wang. But what does that matter? They said that earlier in the season and a few days later determined -- get this -- that he had weakness in his hip. T...

6. Cards' scouting department draws scrutiny   (07 Jun 2009)
By Joe Strauss ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH Sunday, Jun. 07 2009 This week's First-Year Player Draft offers the Cardinals an opportunity for greater self-examination. Depending on the in-house perspective, vice-president of scouting and player development Jeff Luhnow has instilled a productive fresh approach or is misrepresenting activity as progress. Four years have lapsed since the Cardinals exercised six of the draft's first 78 picks in Luhnow's first year as organizer and administrator. Top pick...

7. My Voice and Opinion   (12 May 2009)
Posted 11 May 2009 - 05:35 PM Ok, I am tired of going AIM to AIM with this bullshit. I am going to ask questions here and now and I want answers. I'm not upset nor am I angry, but I am very baffled. How does Jerry have Braun, Kemp, Vitters, Tulowitzki, Beltre, Montero, Papelbon, Hamilton, and Masterson and still have a farm system and guys like CC Sabathia, Joba Chamberlain, Mark Texiera, Ian Kennedy, etc?!? Is it because you guys are afraid to veto a trade that Jerry makes? I understand that he...

8. This is Crazy - Baseball Moment(s)   (14 Jun 2009)
Ok, so I am looking through some sports news today and I see this weird incident that happened a couple of days ago: Quote: : CLEVELAND (AP)—Coco Crisp(notes) thought he still had a chance to get to Shin-Soo Choo’s(notes) bouncing base hit. A bird beat him to it. The ball flattened a low-flying gull in the 10th inning and rolled past Kansas City’s center fielder and Mark DeRosa(notes) scored from second base without a throw to give the Cleveland Indians a 4-3 win over the Royals on Thursday nigh...

9. Wang Thread   (28 May 2009)
Wang's Relief role and Wang's thoughts: Quote: : ARLINGTON -- Chien-Ming Wang can't tell you when he will get another opportunity to start in a big league game, but he knows that Phil Hughes' eight scoreless innings on Monday certainly didn't help. Still in the unfamiliar role of a long reliever, Wang said Tuesday that manager Joe Girardi told him there are still no plans to insert him into the rotation and that he will continue with the Yankees as a reliever for now. "He talked to me yesterday...
